Man, this format is hard

Emrakul plus hall of echos won me a box 😂

36:23: Not only have I gotten the turn 3 Traxos from a 2-drop with a prepared spell, but I've followed it up with the Turn 4 white Ghalta. That game was over quite quickly.

The last time I had this much fun during the draft AND the gameplay was in Duskmourn. Great format, great podcast. Thank you guys!

Way of the deathbringer goes off with Arcane Amphisbaenas! Once I have a deathbringer I am actively looking for snakes in droves.

Rescue Girl + Teyo is a nice little combo

1:07:30 i think i slam unsummon here. Doing the jace plan wants you to be ahead on board, you can make up the card disadvantage from it. Or its just a 1 mana kill a 4/4 trample, kill a 5/5 flyer. Cards a house.

Love the thumbnail and this sweet new format

Format is incredibly fun. Totally agreed about the bombs. The power level on so many cards feels nuts, but I always feel like I can play through stuff

I fell in love with this right away. It's reliquary relic with a TARGET RICH ENVIRONMENT.

Thx for the update and some great insides. Only thing I would suggest, is not jamming UR Saheeli on 4 mana and cross fingers and you will see, how good the card is ;-) Interesting you mentioned this (not optimal) play pattern after you very preciously described, how to get more value from Way of Pyromacer (=not jam it into opposing attacker) or you example of playing Saheeli on 6 with a counter back-up.

I have truly had some of the most insane, swingy, long, impossible come back games I’ve ever played. Both my last two games to hit 7 wins on arena direct I was sub 5 life for like the last 10 turns

3:33 like tarkir dragonstorm but mardu is also slow

I have lived so many of these format truths. A great one was opponent scooping to the threat of using rescue girl on way of the healer. I also trophied with a UW deck with only rare being the dual land.

I cant wait until we have a card called "goldman" so we can have Ethan goldman saks

Just today I got to build my own wilderness rec with green mowu and tethermage for heartwoods. Even used it to eot float Mana and get an early red kiora activation from it in one game. Can highly recommend haha

sometimes I wonder if us magic players are just whiny and complain about everything. Then this huge success and the joy it's bringing are showing me how negative the failures have been with UB

@andrewp6738 1 hour ago

34:20 this is a hilarious anecdote because this is barely better than just paying 8 for Kiora’s ability to do the same thing every turn lmfao

Totally agree about way of the pyromancer. I've seen people big up the 3 drop explore way higher than pyromancer and it's just.... Why?

Love the podcast. I think the one take I disagree with is that you can‘t take turn 2 off. Of course if you have a turn 2 impactful play that‘s great, but I feel so often up until turn 3 not much is happening and it doesn‘t impact the win rate. Most times I‘d rather have the turn 3 good card than the turn 2 mid/low card
