Spielberg probably like "look, I'm not fucking dealing with submerging an animatronic in water ever again so this is gone."

I wish the movie had the book moment where Malcolm proves to Hammond, Arnold and Wu that the dinosaurs were breeding by having them count the amount of dinos on the island instead of the expected amount.

HBO should pick up a series based on the book that’s more dark

Im 63 and there are 5 movies that had my jaw hit the floor when they were first released,
1 Star Wars 1977.
2 Toy Story.
3 Saving Private Ryan.
4 Twister.
5 And of course, Jurassic Park.
I saw them all in the theaters.

We 1000% need the full extended cut

@omy785 6 months ago

Still can't believe it's been more than 30 years and we still haven't had a "director's cut" or an "extended" version. We know there's tons of material that's there

I’m so thankful they kept Ian as a hero not a coward. That would have broken my heart

These deleted scenes explains a lot of why some none existing dinosaurs and equipment were sold as toys as well as some never seen things like the Game on Sega had a river/raft level.

The CGI from decades later looks so much worse. It's insane.

R.I.P. Sam Neill (Dr. Grant) . Thanks for giving us lifetime memories.

I think the reason people collectively try to remember the T-Rex crashing through the wall because there was nothing in the background to suggest how she got in that atrium in the 1st place. The raptors were small enough to get through the doors.
Every shot of the T-Rex shows everything all walls, doorways still intact, including large glass windows. Our brains must have subconsciously created the scene to make it make sense.

Wow on Ian. Glad they turned him into a hero and even was in later Jurassic movies!

Honestly, for the most part it's a good thing those scenes were never made. Most Jurassic sequels make the big mistake of having too much dinosaur encounters happening, making each appearance less effective through dilution. Less is definitely more. I wish Hollywood remembered that.

if anyone that has not read the book is curious, in the original t-rex scene its a lot less heroic by both parties. it's also significantly faster, its described as there being a strike of lightning illuminating the road ahead of them. they see the t-rex moving to the car with the kids in it. then in the next flash of lightning they see the car get thrown by the rex into the trees of the road. at this point malcom asks grant if there is anything he thinks they can do to which grant just shakes his head. so ian goes may as well try and proceeds to try and run getting grabbed by the rex in the effort, and whilst this is happening grant then tries to run in the opposite direction. the entire scene is more about just how utterly helpless they feel vs a predator this size, there is no heroics. no over the top horror just a very swift and brutal attack that nobody was prepared for. both book and movie versions are absolutely amazing but very different

That Hammond's daughter (Lex and Tim's mom) is going through a divorce is also explained in the beginning of the movie, when Gennaro is visiting the amber mine.

This is one of the things I love the most about the Jurassic Park/World Franchise, they never throw any unused ideas for scenes or films away, they just store them for later use.
