"... in order to see how the nymphs would respond after being suffocated by the condom" was not on my bingo card for things I thought Anton would say in 2026.

Yeah, that's the condom plant. How else did you think condoms are harvested?

Sometimes a tower of clay and cicada urine is just a tower of clay and cicada urine.

@WhisperingDeath 3 months ago

"Johnson! Why did you put a condom on that phalic shaped object?"
It's for science, I swear!

“To study how the nymphs would react to the suffocation of the condom”
Not well, I’d imagine

The most incredible thing about this video is Anton kept a straight face

Never get into a pissing match with a cicada.

On behalf of all those (less endowed) cicadas... It's not the size of the tower, it's how you use it. 😅

These resemble the little mud towers crayfish make. We call them “crawdads,” and they build these structures anywhere they can find a bit of mud. They are all over the South.

Any excuse for a scientist to go into a store and ask for Magnum XL condoms

@MentalTaxi 3 months ago

A condom is actually "in the box thinking" generally

This looks more like there was a party at the forest and someone drunk randomly put a condom on a fungus. 😂

I told my girl “It’s for science” but she rolled her eyes

@Nati-vv2rh 3 months ago

Because it without the condom, its rough structure would make it difficult to slide it in

@Larian7 3 months ago

I can imagine since ants do use chemical signals and the cicadas use urine mixed with the clay the ants probably steer clear or can't smell the cicadas either.
