RIP Phil - legend ❤

I promised Phil I would promote his book before he passed away.

Just wanted to say I’m humbled by all the lovely comments, thank you.
Also thank you to James for giving me the opportunity.
Hopefully we can do it again, so much more to tell and cover. Trying to condense 30 years into 2 hours Is impossible.
There’s lots of success stories out there it’s just many people, media and press only want to write about what they see as failures. Maybe that’s for next time we meet James.
Thanks again. ❤

Anyone who’s ever met Phil will tell you the same! You won’t meet a better bloke, I’ve never met a con who’s had a bad word to say about him👍😎 an absolute legend and the fittest man I’ve ever come across! This man helped me through some dark times at the beginning of my sentence to which I know he did many men.None of us ever saw him as on the other side we saw him as a fair man and that’s all we ever asked for! I consider this man my friend and as an ex con that would be to some a strong thing to say but if you’ve ever met Phil you’d understand😎😎😎 see you soon pal love and respect always GILLY😎😎😎😎

One of the best episodes yet. If there was more people like Phil around the world would be a better place. Kind, respectful, compassionate, self aware, hard working...... look forward to the book 👍

Worked with Phil at long lartin way back in 1993 to 1999, top bloke, liked by all, all the best

Absolutely heartbroken my pal has passed😞😞😞😞 just spoken to his wife today and it meant the world! ❤️ just shows you the character of Phils family to think of others at this time❤️ Never forgotten pal see you on the other side😎😎😎😎

Fascinating. You have to salute men like Phil. Helping to rehabilitate, showing fairness and respect, rather than just locking up and throwing away the key. Also good luck with your recovery.

You can tell this man is a decent and kind bloke, can imagine he would have helped a lot of prisoners during his time, fair play to you.

If only the world had more blokes like this. I was gripped from start to finish. 100% respect.

RIP Phil and thank you, James, for sharing this wonderful story about a great man!!

This guy isn’t a worker of a prison this guy sounds like every prisoner best pal what a legend

Can I just say James, Phil is by a country mile the best of the podcasts I've heard. If the world had more Phil's we would be more than half way there, what a respectable and kind human being.

What a fantastic human to walk this earth. You don't get many men like Mr Currie anymore. I know without a doubt he will have made a great impact on not only inmates but his circle out of prison. His voice and all his energy is just so calming! I know doubt know that God has saved him a great seat up there. He walked his path with great purpose. Rip Phil Currie.

Rest in Eternal Peace Phil, you amazing brave and brilliant man 🙏🏽💙

Such a beautiful soul. Only had the privilege to speak to him through podcast comments..
Gods got himself a gorgous Angel. May you R.I.P Phil Currie ❤🎉❤

What a beautiful soul, I could listen to him talk all day! Thank you for letting him tell his story  ❤

Such a humbling interview. I myself was a prison officer, taken hostage, bullied by staff and now have PTSD. I system is broken, it failed Phil, myself and it fails the prisoners too. Thank you for doing this amazing interview with this amazing man. Rest well Phil, you really made a difference x

I can vouch for everything this man says after spending six years, five years as a gym orderly in long Lartin👍👍 truly inspirational man! Six years filled of tears of happiness and sadness alike😂😂😭😭! I remember leaving there and the lads wrote to me telling me of Phil’s plight😭😭 they all decided to do a 24 hour triathlon for the charity and all the top boys were eager to be involved😎😎 they raised thousands and openly admitted to shedding a tear at the presentation when Phil turned up to collect the cheque❤️❤️❤️❤️ only sadness I have is on hearing the the fact that phill stood strong for the poison behind him against the poison in front of him against the governor and the rats all patted him on the back asking him, can you say this can you say that when none of them had the balls to stand up!! And to be fair most of it was for us!! But then again how many of us have done the same? And this is what I’m saying! Phil is proper stuff as we say a fucking minority!! Never change my friend!! Respect always James Gilly and the rest of us❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

You need to get Phil Currie back in I’m sure he’s got a shit load of stories and he’s itching to share them with us all 👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏

This guy is a beautiful human being. Thank you for sharing your story . Absolutely brilliant podcast James English loved ❤️it ..xxx
