I have spent many years in Poppies 1 and over the years it has changed from a busy strip of lots of shops, bars and Warungs to almost nothing, Yet year after year I still see the same vendors that I did 25 years ago, and they never forget you!  Our next trip from 18 October in Sanur I think we might spend a day in Kuta and catch up with some old friends

Poppies 1 has been very quiet for a couple of years but Poppies 2 is more active

Kuta got too big for its boots trying modern developments that don't suit it! First visit of many 1987 Last visit September 2025. A quick walk to the beach near the art market will have greedy sellers asking almost $5au for a coconut! Instagram and YouTube has ruined Bali in my opinion But I will still be going early next year and I still love to stay part of my trip in the old part of Kuta (around Poppies1 and poppies 2) Once the European Digital Nomads stop coming Kuta/Legion will come back to life as nobody from Australia in their right mind would pay Changgu prices so it will also die just like seminyak has stated to.
