Im here after listening to the rest is history episode about south africas anthem. extremely moving

I wonder what went through Mandela's mind when he saw James Small's facial expression as he remained silent during much of the anthem.  After Small's suicide attempt, Mandela reached out to him personally. Very moving.

Most beautiful Anthem in the World, even if the situation is never as rose as it should be. Greetings to south Africa, from France 🇿🇦🇨🇵

Proud Afrikaner and South African!

I still get goosebumps when the anthem plays and the stadium erupts when Die Stem comes on.
It's like a calm verse before an epic drop!

RIP Kitch Christie, Ruben Kruger, Joost van der Westhuizen, James Small, Chester Williams

How about the voice on that choir? When they hit the "ons sal sterwe" part I get goosebumps and I'm not even from the RSA.

I have never ever cried while listening to another national anthem except my Romanian anthem. This interpretation of the South African national anthem can and should bring tears to everyone's eyes.

“The Call of South Africa” is amazing!

Credits to the soloist she really pulled up both anthems

COMING HERE FOR INVICTUS

This is the most beautiful version of the National Anthem sung by the late Sibongile Khumalo.

This man and this game brought our country together.  I was a young Afrikaner girl in matric and a waiter at Ellispark for a catering company that day.  How honored was I to have seen this.  And to boast...Joost van der Westhuizen was in our school just before my time.  Magic Moments.

I am an indian but along with ours this national anthem is very heart touching one
