I drew that thumbnail art years ago (and worked on the game for many years), so it was a nice surprise to see this video appear in my feed today! Thanks for talking about our beloved CoH and, of course, for playing! :)

That's a fun topic! I play on private servers for other MMOs so it's very interesting to see one that has been integrated by the original company and devs.

I've been waiting for you to talk about CoH after seeing you play it in all the post-credits!

I always loved that game.  it was so cool, but really I enjoyed the character creator.  I love Superheroes.

This game came out when I was 12 and I was obsessed immediately. Played it nonstop through my formative teenage years all the way until the day it was shut down when I was in my 20s, then jumped over to the secret illegal private server (was not very fun because it was so secret and empty) & was there day 1 when the server leaked and Homecoming was born. Met my closest friends there who all grew up with me in the Virtue RP scene and are still huge parts of my life today. Our RP group is still at the center of our friendship although we are all friends outside the game now as well. This game quite literally changed my life in such a profound way, I would not be who I am today without it & without the relationships and experiences I acquired while playing it.

Its... Back?
God. Thank you, i never knew. I should hop back in its been so long...
Thank you😭

Always used to wonder about this game since I was a devout DCUO player. I think it’s really cool the fanbase is strong enough to maintain a game that’s over 20 years old now. Awesome video!

Hey, this is a nice plot-twist. It’s like a quick exit off the freeway for gas and snacks.

Oh, 20 seconds in and now I want another video about his experience with retro hero games of the past. I always tried to get every comic adaptation I could find

Ive never really seen or felt nostalgia on the level I did playing coh again in 2020. Truly felt my own mortality. Nice to know you are an OG player.

As someone who didn't play this game, isn't interested in MMOs, and follows you for your comic-book content, I absolutely endorse the idea of you breaking up your content into other interests, and still enjoyed this video.

City of Heroes is one of those games I sort of feel nostalgic for wanting to play even though I never did, it looks like such a great time.
I know I had other gaming experiences just as cool and meaningful so I don't really feel lesser for missing out or anything, it just makes me think of reading PCGamer when I was 15.

Love City of Heroes, been slowly leveling a villain in my free time lately.

Champions Online was my cape MMO of choice because I liked the TTRPG back in the day. In retrospect I should have gone with CoH because that game didn't spend its lifetime abandoned.

I couldn't afford a PC or the time to play an MMO during the height of this game but I did pick up some of the comics. They're pretty alright for what they are

I remember getting lost in the character creation section for ages before actually playing.

Aside from having an Atari console when I was a kid, I never really got into video games but I have always been a little curious about CITY OF HEROES and other superhero-related games.

You finally did it! Thank you!

Wasn't expecting a City of Heroes to autoplay!! Sick Video!!!

I just want to thank an old friend/love? idk?? Thank you Josh for showing me this game earlier this year, as we both were going through our own depressing BS, while also trying to have each other's back. I'm hella grateful for the times we spent playing this (even if I did take 300 years on the character customization screen). I'm glad I was able to spend them with you, and stepping into your childhood memories that brought you the most joy. I know we might not ever be friends again like we once were, however I will always cherish those moments we had, man. (you might not even see this comment but also knowing you and how hyper fixated you can be especially with CoH there might be a very high likelihood of you seeing this, idk?) lol why am I even posting this comment? I just hope life treats the both of us well, Godspeed.

I adore this game, would love to have a super group to play with.
