Sorry for the hiatus, all of the travel took a lot out of me. Q4 is going to be really packed this year, I'm finally back on it.

As someone getting into 3D modelling, I'm amazed at how simple yet beautiful the game looks. Every line and shading is there for a purpose. Would love to spend days just looking at the models to learn from it.

Your essay videos don't feel the same without a self-camera.

I miss the memes from your previous format too.

This is feedback, not criticism. Keep doing whatever you wanna do at the end of the day c:

Blue Prince astounds me so much, because it's a game that has so many secrets to find that even the extremely complex idea of reaching Room 46 is only barely scratching the iceberg of "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS HOUSE?"

Just realized you can read Blue Prince as blueprints

Blue Prince is a very unique game where it has several jumping off points where you can say, "I am finished with the game" and feel fulfilled. It's also one of the few puzzle games where I looked up the answer to a puzzle (looking at you, Gallery) and didn't feel bad about doing it. It also is possibly the only puzzle game where I backed into an answer to a puzzle and still felt good about it 'cause my logic made sense to me (now I'm looking at you, Drafting Room).

At the end of the day, Blue Prince is my current Game of the Year. That doesn't mean it's a perfect game, it means it did something different and it did it well. When you've been gaming for nearly four decades, playing something you can't say is like another game means a lot.

I find it odd the dev claims that Roguelikes weren't huge 8 years ago, like Spelunky, Binding of Issac, and FTL were huge while being over a decade old each. That's just the popular ones, the indie boom was covered in roguelikes.

Blue Prince is one of those games that I absolutely cannot play because it would make my brain way too confused. I love a good mystery and puzzle, but this has so many layered on top of each other that my head racks. A friend of mine was playing it though and I was helping them find clues, but I definitely could not do that all on my own

There’s another puzzle that involves the 8 key. So solving the art gallery is not just for +4 allowance. In fact that puzzle also requires you to solve the throne room puzzels as well.

Finally, more Brick. Also, Ferret spotted 13:30

A lot of the late game puzzles just lead to another puzzle. And if you are the sort of person still playing well beyond room 46, for you another puzzle is in itself a reward.

I still don't think the game can beat GMTK's criticism:
"This game doesn't respect my time"
But this video *did*. It was worth far more to me than the time I played Blue Prince. I do now respect the game far more than I did, it's art, just not art for me.

This sounds like a TRULY fascinating game. Unfortunately, I am the type of person that tends to get very frustrated very quickly if I can't figure out a puzzle within at most 30 minutes. I enjoy puzzles, but only too a point. Just based on this video, I likely won't pick up this game. However, It genuinely sounds like a phenomenal experience. I'm gonna go watch some video essays about this game when I can.

"time without referencing outer wilds"
Thank you shammy

it´s blue Brick time

Always astounds me that the dude that made Blue Prince also runs Mythicspoiler. I remember seeing the ad at the top of the site some time ago, looking past it, then seeing Northernlion play a game called Blue Prince that sounded vaguely familiar.
Weird how the world works.

I personally found the gallery super annoying but grew to appreciate it when you solve the atelier puzzle. It’s not about the prize, it’s about knowing.

One thing I would say for blue pince: If you play it like Bricky and stop after discovering the 46th room, this game is amazing. The prime reward going on from there is the story and not gameplay, I enjoyed the story so much I continued. Bricky is on point with his reason for putting the game down when he did. There are still a few amazing moments to be had after but this is not where the game shines.

Huge shout out to the scenes where you see the future: Amazing music and voice acting, I'm basically immune to scary games etc, those scenes hit me in ways no horror games have in a long time.

If he made a scary game, I would be cautious before picking it up heh

27:25 playing blue prints past room 46 means that you're kind of person where a puzzle after a puzzle IS a reward.

Also the throne room still isn't the true ending to the game. But it does have a cutscene (unlike the one I'm thinking of), so you're forgiven for thinking that's it.

I never thought I would be happy to watch a review of someone's Blue Prince experience when they didn't truly finish the game. I'm currently on my fourth playthrough watch and it appears like this person will also be finishing the entirety of the game's puzzles. But to hear how satisfied you were with the game even after your frustration with how it progresses after reaching Room 46 is wonderful. Tonda himself has said that as long as you see the credits roll, you've finished it. And if you want to drop the game and move on after that, then he's just as happy as seeing someone do it all. This was definitely a perspective I needed to hear, so thanks for that, Bricky
