Apparently the Rat has more honor than the Dark Elves.

1) Tries to restore trading rights.

2) When fail. Tries to put blame on himself.

VS singleplayer: You live out your cottagecore fantasies with a tinge of existential dread amidst honest manual labor.

VS multiplayer:

How it started:
"My name is Ratthew Squeakums, I'm cheesed to meet you" =OwO=

How it's going:
Mankind has encountered no foe that steel could not tame, or whom walls could not hold. At least, that is what they taught. No one spoke of the ancient enemy now rising from beneath, and no one will be left to tell the tale, unless you can stem the Vermintide.

I'd say the dwarf hold was better in terms of sheer scale and combined effort put into it, while the Elven village was better in terms of furnishings and feeling lived in, where it felt like every individual elf had more personal space and their own take on the theme.

45:05 his tower ontop of the university. The university is handmade, but its from a mod called better ruins. All those enemies down there, all those spawners, most of them are hand placed. The mod devs of that mod like to do that

The genuine laughter when Bean was taken by the tendril and the Elvis crash had me in stitches 😂

FYI domesticated animal generation matters, the further down the generational line an animal is (since the began eating from troughs) the less likely the are to get agressive when near their babies or milking (bighorn sheep). It also alows you to lead them with a rope and become much easier to kill them as you can do it with a single strike from a cleaver etc.

Never trust 3 rats in a trench coat.... said by 3 skaven in a trench coat

Scorch has been a legend in every Vintage Story playthrough Jay has done.

And thus the season finale of Ren arrives. On the heels of Jay's terrible decision to authorize RAT-OPS.

Cypher had the wildest VOIP glitch with his voice going super low and then super high, all choppy. It was hilarious and lasted so long.

Scorch is absolutely built different. Last season he soloed the forces of hell for an hour straight, this season he solos the dwarven army and their entire keep for hours on end. The war continued for a while after the dwarves left, mostly with Rathew and Scorch committing further bombings against the mountain folk, but eventually it came to an end.

I will state: Rathew kept reinforcing King Toten's throne. He would say "yeah that's enough" and then like 30 minutes later Jay would walk by and he would be reinforcing it more. That throne is never returning.

One thing cut is Jay was (understandably) crashing out constantly while taking the wall down - it took him like an hour straight of nothing but pickaxing it. He was also sad that the Guild Hall was now worthless, as it's entire purpose was to be a middle ground for all races to hand out quests and build camaraderie. But now with war and resentment, it was looking pretty pointless.

That is, until the evil machinations of the Dark Wizard Shovel came to light (and also they made up out of game because they're all friends and stuff). The Guild Hall was finished and it was immediately put to use to bring the evil warlock to justice.

Also quick side note, Jay went to assist Bean at the elven village and found out he was roped to a hog in one of Bean's animal pens, which is why he kept getting ripped back to the village. The rope was visible to Jay but not Bean. It would continue to randomly torment him right up until possibly the funniest goddamn moment of the series, which we saw in this video - Bean getting absolutely ripped from Wyvern's Rest and pulled across the entire lake. They pulled up the map and saw him across the water. I hadn't laughed so hard in ages, and Jay's scream for Bean didn't help. Bean's Big Day In, indeed.

Shovel insta-crashing Jay with the Elvis impression was phenomenal, oh my god every time it gets me.

Jay also cut out like...I mean it was probably like 10 minutes of Cypher getting the boat stuck on the Dark Elf canal thing, but it felt like hours. Jay eventually gave up and tore down half the damn thing just so they could leave.

It was shown very briefly in these, but Scorch chiselled a Toyota Corolla out front of the Guild Hall, and Rathew joked about using it as a car bomb against the other groups.

And then we get to The University. As others have said, it's a handmade story dungeon from the Better Ruins mod. A very long segment of the stream for obvious reasons, and a fantastic little dungeon delve. Shovel used his dark magicks to send his tower to the top of the highest building there.

Also, the Bell enemy you hear ringing after they go into the University? They don't find the damn thing for like an hour. Every time they got near that main staircase, just loud unending ringing. Endless hordes of enemies, an eviler nether portal, even more hordes of enemies, the skeleton of a dragon as a power generator...so much going on. The same Bell you hear as they finally ascend was the same damn one from earlier.

Shovel taking his railway up was hilarious. Also, having a giant water tank with a murder dinosaur whale is extremely appropriate for an evil warlock.

And lastly, of course the fate of all Ren depends on a game of Omok. One very funny bit Jay cut for his Absolute Cinema moment with the death of Shovel, is that as soon as he was thrown from the top, literally everyone with a gun immediately tried skeet shooting him as he fell. Shovel goes airborne and it was just a chorus of gunfire.

The Terracrewmate Army caused me to take psychological damage. Scorch is Built. Different.

The Dwarven feast was entirely made of booze, and so many people drunk themselves into alcohol poisoning. They also drunkenly fired the cannon (I think someone just stood next to it and fired a rifle).

Also, the car bomb was decidedly not a joke. But it was hilarious. One last Rat-Op to send off the season.

I truly love the walkthrough at the end though. I saw a lot of it during the vods, sure, but things were usually in progress and some stuff Jay never saw or went back to on stream, so it's really nice to see everything at the end. The rat tunnels were fantastic, kinda sad they never got used but things still turned out amazing. Rathew said he would work on the tunnels in the brief moments that nobody was at Wyvern's Rest. Just pro rat-work.

The Dwarf Hold of Boatmurdered is probably my favorite of the four settlements, but all of them were incredible.

Ren, as anyone who takes the time to read my schizophrenic ramblings I tend to post on reaction videos to it (hi!), is probably my favorite series on YouTube now. Just an absolutely phenomenal journey to watch play out. I'm 100% looking forward to their post apocalypse season.

Bamboo is vanilla. There are a lot of plants and even animals you don't see unless you go to warmer regions in the south. It's pretty cool.

As someone who watched the VOD, its pretty funny how heavily edited the war segment is, lol

BEAN’S BIG DAY IN

Two words: Fucking Skaven. Legit though, glad ya had a good time with it checkin this out. Found your channel courtesy of the Recommended section for this and joined ya for this watch-along. earned a sub from me.

The "La Li Lu Le Lo"? Haven't heard that since... (My brother is a MASSIVE Hideo Kojima fan.)

Thanks Kip. Playing Lord of the Rings: The Third Age on PS2 earlier today at Helms Deep now I can't unhear him with a slight southern twang.

It's a little bittersweet to see the conclusion of this series, but it just means these guys can go on to do something else that's cool, and that's something to celebrate :)

I’ve been looking forward to your reaction to this episode. I love how everyone just having fun and playing into their roles lead into such an amazing story that wasn’t pre-planned.
Like, yeah they would break character for technical details and such, like that Dark Elf that asked them for a ride back home so he didn’t have to walk. But overall they kept it fun while keeping to their roles.

Because of Raptor’s videos on this game, I tried it myself a few times. Man is it something to get into. One of those games were it seems to have a high entry bar, but once you’re familiar with the basics you begin to have an easier time.

If you ever try it yourself I recommend playing with other people new to it as well, maybe a couple who are more familiar to answer questions.

Trying it alone I felt pretty overwhelmed by how much had to be done to survive. Whereas when I tried joining the official server/ playing with just other players familiar with the game, I felt rather useless since I had no idea what I was doing while everyone else was rushing forward advancing in technology and supplies.

Thanks for these reactions. After I watched one of them I went and watched all the VODs for the series.

a mod that doesn't change gameplay but you might like is the more lanterns mod...
