TAKE ANGIES’S ADVICE TO START SLOWY SERIOUSLY! I purchased a rebounder last year when I was 71. Thinking I was in pretty good shape, I started out with a 10 minute beginner workout. Well, I think it was a beginner workout for people half my age😬
I’m pretty fit aerobically, or I would probably have stopped half way through. Towards the end I felt a sharp pain in my back so I stopped. It turned out to be a compression fracture in one of my vertebrae which took months to heal. I’m sure that was from poor form, being a beginner, and I also have osteoporosis. I’m all healed now but I couldn’t get myself to get on that rebounder again so I gave it to my daughter. I’m doing strength workouts with bands and weights plus I walk with my hubby. So, take Angie’s advice and mine….start slower than you think you need to!

I'm 76 and love my rebounder! I've tried several of the youtube sites mentioned but have the most fun with the san fran fitness site. I use light hand weights while getting my steps in. After each session, I do a separate routine using heavier hand weights off the rebounder. I have more energy, better balance, stronger bones, and more endurance than before I started 2 years ago.

Concerning your bones, what is beneficial is taking K2 along with D3 but 80% of
people don't know that you should also incorporate Magnesium (Glycinate) along
with the K2 and D3. Those should show a significant difference for your bone density
loss.

64 year old here. I have the exact same rebounder and I love it. It’s great for lymphatic drainage too. I wear a weighted vest at home for 2-3 hrs a day. Aging is inevitable but I believe growing old is a choice.

I reversed my severe osteoporosis in my spine using a rebounder, algae cal bone builder calcium supplement and meditating. My Dr said she had never seen results like that. I paid out of pocket for an updated dexa since it had only been 6 months since I had the scan that showed -3 in my spine. I had to know if what I was doing was working and didn’t want to wait 2 years for insurance to cover it and I also didn’t want to go on prolia. The scan ended up only costing $100 and getting my updated positive results was so satisfying.

Also, be careful with your legs and feet. When I had a car accident and broke my arm and had shoulder surgery, my physical therapist said they treat so many middle age women who think they can jump on a trampoline and end up really messing themselves up. He said basically just bounce and not jump.

I’m 68 and have been rebounding for 12 years -love it! Plus, it’s fun and you get a big bang for your buck in a short amount of time. You don’t have to jump for 30-45 minutes to get benefits, even 10 minutes will have you feeling great and is good for your lymphatic system. I use it to supplement strength training 3x/week at the gym. Never tire of it! Love your research on this!

You do an amazing job summarizing the science and disseminating this valuable info in a manner accessible to the broader public. The value is highlighted by your own experience with your doctor - women need this information, such as vaginal estrogen cream options, to take the best care of themselves and to advocate for their health within the current medical system and climate. Rebounding has definitely helped with 'leakage' for me. I'll be 79 in August and after s short time I realized I could actually rebound for 15 minutes without stopping to make a bathroom run. I expect to see even more improvement over time.

I found the safety bar got in the way. A friend recommended a heavy dining room chair next to your rebounder. You can pull it close if you need it or further away if you dont. Gives you a feeling of security having something... 😊

I'm 68 and started mini trampoline a few months ago. I can't get enough! I feel so good afterwards. It's amazing!! I started mostly to benefit my bone density but it's good for so much more!
Stress relief is a definite plus for me. It has really helped with urinary incontinence.
