Omori’s finally got a “Gay or European” animatic now. We’re an official fandom now bois

The way the frame changed IMMEDIATELY from Sunny saying Basil is his boyfriend to him spitting out rainbows is amazing

of course sunny would try to eat the perfume bottle

I'm sorry, but a door spontaneously existing out of nowhere for the sole purpose for Basil kicking it down actually fucking killed me.

Omori: a psychological horror game with a sad dark twist near the end

Its fandom:

I'm so proud to be part of this beautiful fandom

"I'm straight"

"you were not yesterday" sunny got toasted

"I'm straight"
"You weren't yesterday"
Sunny: * toasted *

This fits so perfect for basil Imao, specifically considering how many times he calls sunny his “best friend”

"Who's your best friend?"
"Who stabbed your eye out?"
"What were you doing last night?"

Sunny: "Basil."

What I like about this fandom is that it really can go both ways.

Canonically, Sunny had a crush on Aubrey, but at the same time it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that Sunny and Basil could very easily have feelings for each other.

What I love is neither is forced down your throat and you can really see either as legitimate.

I... I love this. I love how horribly embarrassed Sunny looks when he's being called out while everyone's cheering all around him, and how insistent Basil is. Haven't thought of this song in ages, but it being used with the Omori gang is just brilliant. Also, your art's super clean and cute!

1- i love sunny taking care of the elephant
2- aubrey freaking out and going crazy is amazing
3- kel changing is just yes. Every kel meme is cannon.
4- basil tormenting sunny is hilarious
5- everyone cheering at the end was so sweet and the fluff i need after this depressing game

ey, dont forget, every kel meme is canon

Gotta love how he immediately defies the first 3 "gay indicators" and then tries to eat the perfume bottle. I swear I'll be laughing for days over Sunny trying to eat a perfume bottle like an apple.

2:49
Basil: throws the scissors away
Hero: girly screams

OMFG I JUST CAN'T-

THE OMORI DRIP GOT ME FCK

"Look at that condescending smirk!"
Omori: Manic
"Seen it on every guy at work!"

You're gonna need a therapist and a priest cuz there's a demon in your workplace ma'am

"And what's your boyfriends name?"
"Basil... WAIT"
" caught in 4k "

The three frames from 1:33 to 1:38 are nothing short of perfection: the elephant-in-the-room callback to a previous hilarious joke, then Aubrey, Kel, and Hero all in that same pose, and then Sunny with drip... so perfect.

Also adding in the pause and sound effect for Basil kicking down the door... that was perfection, too.

LYRICS

0:06
AUBREY (Laura Bell Bundy):
There!  Right there!
Look at that tanned, well-tended skin
Look at the killer shape he's in
Look at that slightly stubbly chin– oh, please, he's gay
Totally gay!

HERO (Michael Rupert):
I'm not about to celebrate
Every trait could indicate
A totally straight expatriate
This guy's not gay– I say, not gay

HERO, AUBREY, KEL (Group)
That is the elephant in the room
Well, is it relevant to assume
That a man who wears perfume
Is automatically, radically fey?

HERO (Christian Borle): But look at his coiffed and crispy locks!
AUBREY (Bundy): Look at his silk translucent socks
KEL (Rupert): There's the eternal paradox.  Look what we're seein'
AUBREY (Kate Shindle): What are we seeing?
KEL (Rupert): Is he gay…
AUBREY (Bundy): Of course he's gay!
KEL (Rupert) …or European!

THE MAVERICK, HERO, AUBREY, KIM (Group): Ohhhh

0:49
KEL, MAV., HERO, AUBREY, KIM (Group):
Gay or European?  It's hard to guarantee
Is he gay or European?
KEL (Richard H. Blake): Well, hey, don't look at me!

AUBREY (Shindle):
You see, they bring their boys up different
In those charming foreign ports
They play peculiar sports
HERO, AUBREY, KEL (Group): In shiny shirts and tiny shorts

Gay or foreign fella?
The answer could take weeks
They both say things like «ciao, bella»
While they kiss you on both cheeks
AUBREY (Bundy): Oh, please

KEL, MAV., HERO, AUBREY, KIM (Group): Gay or European?  So many shades of grey!
MAV. (Blake): Depending on the time of day, the French go either way
(Group): Is he gay or European, or—?

1:23
KIM (Natalie Joy Johnson):
There!  Right there!
Look at that condescending smirk
Seen it on every guy at work
That is a metro, hetero jerk!
That guy's not gay – I say, no way!

HERO, AUBREY, KEL (Group):
That is the elephant in the room
Well, is it relevant to presume
That a hottie in that costume
AUBREY (Shindle): Is automatically, radically
HERO (Rupert): Ironically, chronically
KIM (Johnson): Certainly, flirtingly
MAV., KEL (Blake): Genetically, medically
KEL, MAV., HERO, AUBREY, KIM (Group): Gay; offically gay; swishily gay, gay, gay, gay…

Damn it!

1:47
Gay or European?
VANCE (Rupert): So stylish and relaxed
(Group): Is he gay or European?
ANGEL (Rupert): I think his chest is waxed

AUBREY (Shindle):
But they bring their boys up different there
It's culturally diverse
It's not a fashion curse
HERO, AUBREY, KEL (Group): If he wears a kilt or bears a purse

Gay or just exotic?  I still can't crack the code
MISS CANDICE (Nikki Snelson): Yeah, his accent is hypnotic!  But his shoes are pointy-toed…
HERO, AUBREY, KEL (Group): Huh.

KEL, MAV., HERO, AUBREY, KIM (Group): Gay or European?
So many shades of grey…!
(Amber Efé): But if he turns out straight, I'm free at eight on Saturday

(Group):
Is he gay or European?
Gay or European?
Gay or Euro—!

2:20
KEL (Borle): Wait a minute; give me a chance to crack this guy.
I have an idea I'd like to try.
HERO (Rupert): The floor is yours.

KEL (Borle): So, Mr. Argitakos.
This alleged affair with Ms. Wyndham has been going on for…?
SUNNY (Manuel Herrera): Two years
KEL (Borle): And your first name again is…?
SUNNY (Herrera): Nikos
KEL (Borle): And your boyfriend's name is…?
SUNNY (Herrera): Carlos

(all gasp)

SUNNY (Herrera):
I– I sorry!
I misunderstand!
You say "boyfriend"; I thought you say "best friend"!
Carlos is my… “best friend”.

BASIL (Matthew Risch): You… bastard!  You lying bastard!
That's it, I no cover for you, no more!
Peoples, I have a big announcement!

2:54
This man is gay AND European! [HERO, KEL, AUBREY (Ensemble): Whoa!]
And neither is disgrace [Oh.]
You gotta stop; you're being a completely closet case!  [D’oh!]

It's me, not her, he's seeing; no matter what he say
I swear he never, ever, ever swing the other way
You are so gay, you big parfait, you flaming one-man cabaret…!
SUNNY (Herrera): I'm straight!
BASIL (Risch): You were not yesterday.

So if I may, I'm proud to say:
He's gay!  [ALL OTHERS (Ensemble): And European!]
He's gay!  [And European!]
He's gay!  [And European, and gay…!]

SUNNY (Herrera): Fine, okay, I'm gay.
ALL (Risch, Ensemble), Hooray!
