You think Moon Music is better than Viva La Vida? That's insane man😂

Here's what I think about Coldplay. The more they lean into that alternative sound, I dig them. The more they lean into that pop sound, I can't afford to care.

i dunno if it's just me, but why is it that the most popular bands
>make an amazing first album,
>get insanely popular,
>and then they never make anything like their first album again.

Back in those days, after Parachutes and A Rush of Blood, my hopes on their third album were on the moon, so I sailed the seven seas and downloaded it the moment it was released only to find out that the torrent i downloaded were a bunch of songs of a polish band named Myslovitz. The funny part is that those songs sounded like an alternate universe Coldplay's third album, were they never became millionaire celebrities who lost all the drive and inspiration that made them create their first two albums.
I love Myslovitz to this day.

Viva la Vida is my favorite album ever, I love every song. I'm sad you don't agree but I'm secure enough to respect your opinion, and it's nice to listen to someone who doesn't look at you weirdly when you say you like Coldplay

11:08 That's Chinese Sleep Chant. It does have a name lol

Playing that little bit of "Til Kingdom Come" instantly made me picture that whole scene from TASM1

I find it baffling how even though they are one of the world's biggest bands they have NEVER released a best of/singles compilation. Even after their 3rd album, which you'd think would have been a perfect moment to do it. In fact their early albums deserve a reissue with bonus CDs of b-sides & rarities, as many were actually pretty good.

White Shadows is absolutely tremendous, especially that outro.
Your channel is great, by the way. I'd love to see a video on Arcade Fire.

X&Y is one of my favorite albums of all time, but I have to say I agree with everything you have to say. I grew up listening to it a lot so it's got a special place in my heart even if it took quite a while for me to know which song was playing because so many of them sound so similar. Thanks for taking the time to do this, I haven't really paid attention to Coldplay in the last decade or so and didn't actually know half these new albums existed.

As a Coldplay fan that actually likes most of their music, i have to say that this was a great and entertaining video! You've definently earned a sub.

I've been a Coldplay fan for a long time. Big fan of X&Y; a good album to put on when I'm tired of metal, dark folk or dungeon synth.

Mylo Xyloto is my favorite. The energy really speaks to me.

I love that you highlighted Daylight when you talked about Rush of Blood. After I learned that Clocks was that song I heard snippets of a bunch in 2002, and that it was Coldplay that did that song, I decided to listen to all their records (which went all the way to Head Full of Dreams at that point) and when I got to Daylight, that was a real standout for me. On the other hand, Yes is actually one of my favourites off Viva La Vida, which I find to be a quite good album in general. To each their own I guess.

Mylo and Xyloto are characters in the album's narrative.

Coldplay is one of those bands which everyone hates for the biggest hits 😔 (but they got those hidden gems)

I was drunk at a party and had a great time dancing with everyone to the adventure of a lifetime music video

I listened to Viva La Vida so much as a kid, loved that album and some of their earlier hits, and then after that just never listened to any of their stuff again.  It’s funny, just recently listened to Don’t Panic again because I was nostalgic for some music for an old movie I liked that had that song in the soundtrack

“Three intermission songs is excessive”
The Humble Ænima:

I’m usually not the kind of person to say it bit with Coldplay it’s valid. Those first 4 albums I still listen to a lot but they haven’t been on that level in a good while. The only newer songs I care for are adventure of a lifetime, arabesque, Charlie Brown, All I can think about is you, and coloratura
