One of my all time favorite cars. My mom bought a new 2.8L in silver, black interior, optional hardtop and manual gearbox while I was in high school. She absolutely loved that car, but when my sibling started having kids a few years later she needed something with a back seat to do the whole grandma thing. She just about cried when she traded it in for a Toyota Solara(basically a Camry coupe) convertible.

About three years ago, we had been talking about how fun that Z3 was. Unbeknownst to her I sold my prized AE86 and bought a pristine, low mileage '01 Z3 3.0 in the same color scheme as well as a matching hardtop. We had been planning a long weekend getaway; the look on her face when I pulled up in it with the top down was absolutely worth it. Combine that with the 'fun to drive' factor and reasonable fuel economy and I find myself driving it more often than not in the nicer months.

I cant wait for Winter to be over so i can get back into my 3.0! The engine is phenomenal, it really makes the car.

I found your channel a few weeks ago when I was psyching myself up to do a roof-swap. Ironically, I had just spontaneously upgraded from a 1.9 (non-supercharged!) to a 2.8 and had only a few weeks earlier had new roof fabric fitted at Jack Smiths in Swansea. I'm loving the car upgrade, it was definitely a good decision - even despite the hassle of changing the roof (your video was a big help). Hope you enjoy the 3.0, I look forward to more videos on it

That looks like a much better choice than Taylor’s old car which was way OTT for road use. I think that car had been taken too far personally because there’ll be better track cars out there.

Would def take the 1.9 supercharged z3 over the 3.0, and I have a 3.0. A modified z3 is a gem, uncommon, but man these cars suck stock (ive had a coupe and roadster). To each their own though!
