What's your favorite indie horror movie?

This film is probably the best footage of the Saltair Pavilion before it sadly burnt down

Never clicked on a video this fast

Underrated masterpiece right here

I think one of the scariest aspects of the movie is the idea that we won’t even know when we’re dead.

He didn’t admit it often, but George Romero was very influenced by Carnival of Souls, and like Living Dead, it was an independent movie by people who made educational films and commercials. Lots of parallels

I watched this movie completely blind just because I heard the title before. I immediately fell in love with it. One of the best ever made.

Love Carnival of Souls! I watched it in the middle of the day with a buddy of mine and we kept talking through it and it STILL creeped me out! And for the record, few movies do nowadays...

My dad watched this movie when it first came out. It became one of his favorites He was in numerous traditional folk bands over the years and he named one "Carnival of Souls" after this film. He later left the band and other members kept the name, performing under it for several years.
I grew up watching a lot of cult movies with him but this one probably had the most lasting impression. To this day I get nervous looking out the window at night. 😅

Herk Harvey said he’d wanted “Carnival of Souls” to have the look of Bergman and the feel of Cocteau. Or maybe it was the other way around. Well, who cares? He succeeded.

This film is an absolute masterpiece and is a huge part of shaping my love for horror. My mother introduced me to the film at a young age and it's actually her favorite horror film of all time. So we were able to bond while admiring this incredible film. Carnival of Souls is so much more than a film to me. It's a huge part of who I am today.

I caught this movie while flipping through channels waiting for my mom to come home. It was so surreal and with such a feeling of dread! I was too young to see the twist coming and once I realized she was dead all along, I became convinced that my mom was also the victim of a car wreck and this was the universe's way of telling me. Luckily, she was just running late but I was never so happy to see her walk through the door!

Not only an excellent film, but also the best visual documentation of the Saltaire 2 (or what was left of it at the time.) What and incredible structure!

I saw this one along with Spider-baby, another movie that deserves more attention. Great video.

Watching what I thought would be a boring movie. Carnival of souls was extremely captivating and I couldn’t look away. Who ever decided to film in an abandoned carnival was brilliant. It’s kinda like a fever dream mixed with surreal psycho-thriller. Movies rare make me feel creeped out. This movie did that and it’s so memorable too.
