🤣🤣🤣 Even the bus driver looked stressed AF

When I got off that bus I thought I was something. I was nothing. First thing I lost was my attitude and then my hair.

I served 20 years in the Corps and 2 combat tours in Vietnam. I was wounded at the end of my first tour. After 3 months in Great Lake Naval hospital I was returned to duty at MCRD San Diego where I had gone to recruit training. I was an Instructor for Battalion S-3 teaching general military subjects to both recruits and permanent personnel. When my 36 month tour at MCRD was over I headed back to West Pac ground forces for my 2nd tour. My time at MCRD was good duty but a bit different than what is shown here.

Marines have been told to "GET ON LINE" before the internet was invented!

They all volunteered for this, and it makes me proud of them. Good men.

I’m a 25 year firefighter, I’ve gotten to work with many many firefighters that were military and military members over the years through USAR training . They were all great people, but marines always stood out from the others ! One of my best friends is a marine/firefighter!

I went through MCRD and became a Marine straight after High School, did my 4 years and got out. Recently decided to join up again but a different branch 6 years later. I went through the whole enlistment process again and man…these kids are still kids, babies even. Can’t even buy an alcoholic beverage yet they chose to step up to those yellow footprints. I respect everyone who does in any branch and wish them success.

I miss boot camp in an odd way. It was a surreal experience.

That guy was brave using his phone lol.

Crazy that they are teaching the war I was in as USMC History....chills

As scared and confused as they look, and as physically and mentally tough as it is; they make it through. God bless these young men that answer the call. -Rob (USN)

Back in my day, we had to fight a dragon before getting our EGA.

Ahhhh memories... MCRD San Diego 1992. Semper FI.

I was stationed at MCRD, SD 1985-86 as a USN Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class.  I came away with a very deep appreciation of the Marine Corps, and the DI's I worked with.

I remember it like it was yesterday

Israel is so proud of them

I went through MCRD-SD in 1977: Platoon 3008, Series 3005, Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 3 January - 1 April 1977.  It's amazing how few things have changed.  One change is that we had to do our runs in boots.  I fell out of my first run, and my DIs made me take a cold shower fully clothed and with boots.  I never fell out of a run again.  One big change is that we NEVER saw a female Marine until our Graduation Day.  There was a WM in the band.

Arriving at Air Force Basic, all they made us do was pick up our bags a couple times. Then we went for hot dogs!
