Gary Brooker had an amazing voice back in 1967 when this was first recorded. The truly amazing thing is that he sounds even better over half a century later. RIP Mr. Brooker
Remember that "the singer guy" wrote the song and the orchestrations of all their songs that had orchestra parts, including here. Gary Brooker was always an underrated vocalist and songwriter. RIP Gary!
RIP to singer Gary Brooker who passed away almost 4 years ago. What a voice he had, it def aged like my favorite bottle of red wine called Tenacious from my favorite Napa vineyard, Celani. Thanks Erica.
Erica in a few minutes you described why I've loved this song for fifty years!! I haven't heard this in ages which is one reason I watch this channel everyday!! Another I enjoy Erica and her reactions!
I love your reactions. I like seeing you as well as other young people who were inspired to become educated in music reacting to the music that I grew up on. I feel like I was fortunate to be born in the mid fifties because I was aware of music early on and the Beatles emerged when I was around ten. They really got my attention as an introduction to all that they ushered in, in terms of cultural impact and other musical forms that followed with them as inspiration. I expect that it's same for every generation to feel a sense of something special about their time. Still, somehow I feel like I hit a sweet spot to have been so impressionable as I witnessed these things. I'm left to wonder if the music that's popular now will endure in a similar way, resonating for decades to come.
Robin Trower played guitar for Procol Harem until 1971. He released his first solo album in 1973 called "Twice Removed from Yesterday", I think you will like his songs "Daydream" and "Hanna" if you're ever in the mood for mellow, bluesy, psychedelicy, rocky music.
Great often overlooked band in the vein of the Moody Blues and Deep Purple in that they combined great organ, guitar, vocals and drumming. Deep, deep catalog.
