I'm here as the voice of dissent on the idea you shouldn't get an OM-3 for your primary if you do bird/wildlife photography! I've had mine 4 months now and 80% of my photography is birds, 15% wildlife, and 5% landscape. The 300mm f4 lens basically lives on my OM-3. I've tried with and without that lovely wood grip from SmallRig and honestly prefer it without the grip - imho it is perfect just the way it is. I chose it over the OM-1 mkII because I hike and travel a lot so wanted the more compact body and I have zero regrets with my choice.

The most surprising thing about your 365 days with the OM3, is the fact you haven't painted it an obnoxious colour yet 😄

I bought this camera after watching this video, so thank you.

I've been an iPhone photographer since I sold my fuji X-T3 and all lenses due to financial difficulties. I get great iPhone pics, I just haven't enjoyed taking them very much. I don't really care about camera specs either, but what every reviewer mentions about the OM-3 and which this video really brings out is that it's fun and inspiring to use.

My love for photography has instantly returned. Two weeks and one holiday in so far, but it's barely left my side. I can see myself using this camera for as long as it will keep taking photos.

I'm so grateful you turned us all on to the OM-3. It's become my favorite camera of all mine. It gave me confidence that I could get rid of my Sony A7iv. It is far more often my EDC (though I know it's still a bit big and bumpy compared to some of your other favorites). Loved watching this one, Emily! Thank you!

This is a pretty flipping fabulous video to be honest. I'm not sure that I've ever seen a review that did as good of a job selling a camera as this video has. Honestly, it's not for me, I'm more of an M5 or EPL kind of guy (I wish I had the subject detect though, looks awesome). But the camera seems to deserve the hype it's getting (I didn't think that before).
P.S. Can you please BEG O.M. System for a proper pancake lens from this decade with good autofocus and motors I can't hear... Metal would be great, weather-sealed would be better. Thanks :)

I have had mine for about a week now.  I thought I loved the GX8,,  Dont get me wrong, the GX8 is a fantastic camera but the white balance is pretty bad.  The OM3 has officially become my new travel camera and EDC!   Another thing Emily if you read this, I genuinely appreciate how much you care about us the viewer.  You are not a "pay to play" channel.  Your genuine love of photography and the fact that you share your presets.  I have total respect for you and I greatly appreciate you.  You have helped me SO much with my photography journey.  I got the GM5, GX8 and now this all based on your recommendation and I have not been disappointed with any of them.  The OM3 in my opinion is one of the best "go anywhere" cameras available today.

Top tip for anyone playing with Colour profiles and shooting in Raw + Jpg:
If you use the (free) OM Workspace included with the camera, when you import the Raw files, it will apply the settings used on the camera at the time of shooting, so you have a good base to start with. Especially as the colour profile interface is the same as it is on the camera.
The jpg rendering engine is also very close to the hardware one in the OM-3, but you can also connect your OM-3 to your computer and use its jpg rendering hardware to speed up processing (coz OM Workspace is otherwise rather sloooow).
Similarly, you can "copy & paste" settings between images.
So it's heckin useful to refine and play around with your colour profiles.
As Emily said, shooting in Raw + Jpg is the best setup for the OM-3 so that you can feel free to mess around with the colours without worrying that they'll mess your photo up.

Thanks for the long term review of the OM-3. It seems like just what I'm looking for. I got it my cart, I just need to hit that buy button, and your video may put me over the edge. Great video. thanks for sharing.

OM-G it’s another OM-3 vid!! Must resist ordering one immediately 😅

was torn between a small travel pen or a huge G9II, you're convincing me to buy that camera now....

I recently got to hold one of these and I was super sad to realize I dislike the flat grip. I so desperately wanted to like this one! That being said I walked out of the store with a EM10 MkIV, so it wasn’t all a loss that day.

I started following you when you first released the Valencia fire photos. I agree that it is a great moment.

Thanks 🙏 I always get so much from your videos, for many years now, like a little visit to far off places. Your perspective and the personality of the places you visit is so well expressed… to me you’re a genuinely unique presence on YT. I l look forward to your next adventure.

I don't shoot with Olympus/OM System, but I just wanted to compliment you for your example photos in this video. Showing so many nice shots inspires me to get out and take photos and, maybe, get the camera/lens you're talking about. And it's not just this video, but all of them, expecially on the trips you took with the OM-3. Well done.

if you want an extended eyepiece the Olympus OMD MARK III fits perfect

I sold all my hobby cameras to buy the OM-3.  The convenience of being able to “just get the shot” without a bunch of extra gear was the primary reason. The other is that it’s just a beautiful camera.  If you are starting out and have the $$, then just get it.  You could spend a lot less, but you will be working with a lot less.  It’s worth the investment, more so than maybe another other example I can think of recently.  It really is that good.

Cheers
Rick

I’ve add my OM3 for nearly 8 months, it’s now my EDC! Thank you for this video, it will help me get even more from this great camera.
