I don't think you need to be worried about 78 not having the right spirit in this installation. I think it adds to the unsettling vibes around this new doctor. I get the sense that 78 is genuinely creeped out, and therefore would have a very different reaction. They might hate the other doctor, but this one is actually scary.
Edit 2: aww, crap. I knew they did something bad to our original doctor. I hope he somehow survived and comes back to save 78 and 906. I can't imagine what this doctor would do to 906! I'm experiencing a normal amount of anxiety over this
