After years of demand for Mitch’s boyfriend. They drew Mitch and his boyfriend hand in hand. Its on the studio’s instagram.

And this is why ParaNorman is one of my all-time favorites. It starts off presenting itself as a silly B Horror (and definitely homages to those) and then it gets HEAVY

The whole sequence with Aggie still gets me going even so many years later

For me "Paranorman" EASILY clears "Monster House"  lol.  I just think the writing and direction and the absolutely incredible stop motion is way better than a standard "ghost story" in the house.
I don't really have a fav character in this.  I like everyone pretty equally.
So 2 fun facts.  1-Its all entirely stop motion, so yes even when Agatha was warping her faces in the climax.....all of that was Stop Motion and not CG.  Truly incredible.
and 2- I believe Mitch is the first openly Gay character in an animated movie....I think....I could be wrong but I think thats close to right.
Glad you enjoyed the movie.  Its such a good movie.

As much as i love monster house, paranorman is something else man. It's so ahead of it's time, has a dark backstory, all the characters are lovable, IT'S FREAGIN STOP MOTION and is OPENLY QUEER, which is pretty impressive for a old movie.

I feel like paranorman is the best movie to describe the experience as an autistic kid

man, sometimes I forget how formative Paranorman was to me as a person. I watched it when I was 11 or 12, and I's probably one of the reasons I'm an archeologist now!
Two things I learned that make Aggie's story so much more interesting: 1. her last name is Prendergast, so she's related to Norman through his mom's family and to Crazy Uncle Prendergast ("ghast" also means to have a ghostly appearance, i.e. ghastly, so the writers earned their pay on this one)
2. During the probable time when Aggie was executed, witches weren't allowed to be buried in consecrated church ground with the rest of the community, as they were thought to have renounced god and it was considered further punishment beyond the grave. She would have been dumped in unconsecrated ground near the site of her hanging, but it was known that the surviving family of witches would sometimes retrieve the body and rebury them in a family plot.
I think Aggie's mother, knowing she couldn't give her the burial she wanted for her, did the kindest thing she could for her daughter--bury her beneath the tree where they had happy memories, in a final act of love and care.
...I'm so normal about this movie, I swear.

It’s SO hard to compare Paranorman and Mosnter House.
I genuinely adore both movies and yeah they have some similarities but they are completely different movies on vibes.

I much prefer this movie to monster house.

The witch is my favorite character but Mitch and Neil are adorable.

No idea why people compared this to Monster House of all movies

27:33 always sends me LMAO

Paranorman is my favorite movie by a landslide

This is my favorite movie EVER. It is 7 am. I clicked on your channel because I saw a short while doom scrolling. Saw this video and I SCREAMED bro 😭 it's SEVEN in the morning, I can't be squealing like that !!!!

35:47 well she does have the last name of his great uncle, so they’re definitely part of the same family tree.

Mitch is of course my favourite character. He’s so nice and caring. He’s so strong, funny and just a chill and awesome guy. Like, his bf can be so proud to have him, cause he’s just an amazing dude, that I’m sure everyone would love to have around.

This movie has such a great message and lesson because this can be related to real life as a lot of people will see something they don't understand and will try to get rid of it or make fun of it when in reality its not evil or bad at all

Ahhhhhhhhh…..Yes my favorite childhood movie I’m so glad you were reacting to ☺️ this holds a special place in my heart(also because of this movie, I’ve always wanted to see a ghost for some reason… I guess that explains why I’m so into ✨PARANORMAL👻 stuff)

Normal is so polite he greets and talks to the ghost even though he shouldn't because that makes live people hate him

No disrespect to Monster House but I am definitely giving my vote to Paranorman. I love ghosts, horror movies, that Halloween vibe (witches and ghosts and zombies), the stop motion animation, and Norman and his little group. And the cute song at the end.

Oh my gosh, next halloween I'd LOVE for you to watch Coraline or Corpse Bride! They're both so fireee. I see a lot of youtubers promoting NordVPN or SurfSharkVPN, so worth looking into. I watched Monster House more as a kid so I'm biased, but there's a LOT to love about Paranorman. BTW love ur nails!

Neil and Norman's grandma are my favorites ❤❤❤
