I am proud to say I work for VALAR ATOMICS…this was a landmark test unique to a High Temperature  Gas Cooled Reactor….your seeing the actual test….

62 years old. Navy nuke from 1983 to 1989. Out of nuclear ever since, but seeing this makes me wish I was 30 years younger. I wish you all the very best.

This so cool 😎! It would be awesome to get an tour! I haul coal right pass this pace ! I've been following y'all for awhile now! I look forward to seeing more!

I love the aesthetics you guys have at Valar

The new age of nuclear power is OFFICIALLY on the map!!!!! Great job Team Valar!!! Just getting started 😎⚛️⚡️ #nuclearaveragejoe

We need y’all in Mississippi

I wish you great success!

Also, I think your LOFC sequence of events is backwards.  You do not scram the reactor first, then turn off the cooling.  You need to create a LOFC event, and then let your plant protection system scram the reactor.  The sequence matters for this type of test.

👀👍🏾

Sounds a lot like navy nuclear influence.

I don't know if a gas cooled TRISO fuel combination will end up being the right secret sauce that can to out-compete a combined cycle natural gas plant, but I'm excited to find out. I'm even more excited to see that the regulatory agencies are allowing this kind of speed and progress. This would have been IMPOSSIBLE without President Trump and Chris Wright.

Looks like a Rockwell HMI.

When going public?

Camera is best tool to observe shinning right :)

Why does Valar, an HTGR utilizing helium as a gas coolant, employ water to cool the RCCS instead of simply replacing helium with air? This choice restricts siting options to locations with available water supplies.

So on the visual of your hex graphite block, I see 19 holes.  Are all these He coolant holes or holes where the TRISO fuel compacts are loaded?  I suspect fuel, but if so, where does the He coolant flow through the block?
Second, the damaged 1986 vintage CNPS compacts Valar is using for WARD250 have been loaded into graphite cups (19 compacts per cup) for protection from further damage. Are you loading the graphite cups into the block, or removing each compact from the cup and loading individually?  I hope not the latter, because these compacts are extremely friable and you risk damaging them further.

And so what do you do with the spent kill pills????
So you're only producing hot air and no electricity right now?!!! So we don't know exactly how much electricity this will actually produce...
And no follow-up about the cooling of the plant after several days??!

Keep saying graphite doesn't explode, but chernoble was graphite and exploded
