In any vehicle if the transmission is overheating you should let it idle not turn off the engine so trans fluid can continue to flow through the cooler.

driver error

Logically you would leave the vehicle running so the transmission oil pump can circulate the oil and cool it down,

$100k spent on that LR and the dude has NO idea how to use it. What a waste.

HELLO @Sandtow if you turn the head lights or some load taking item on once your battery is disconnected it will deplete the capacitors and reset computers faster. Then turn off load taking devices and hook battery back up. Then try vehicle again. 35 year automotive technician

Ideal to leave engine running with the transmission in neutral. This will help continue to pump fluids through the transmission to help cool the transmission.

He must have sat there full throttle for 30 minutes digging that hole in the Rover. Must be a rental😂

Your football training/coaching came into play again. When something’s not working and all eyes are on you, take a timeout and rethink your strategy. You worked the Defender problem and came out a winner — a victory leap well-earned. You’ve got a good head on your shoulders. Keep using it and you’ll always do well.

Wow,some people really don’t belong driving, especially on the beach, great video!

It’s not stuck in neutral. Neutral with the engine running will cool the transmission

At odd angles where you are pulling slightly down, it helps to have an inflated spare that you can stand up and run the winch line over, maybe 3 to 5 feet behind the vehicle you are extracting. That redirects the pull into a level or slightly upward angle. Australians do it all the time and it works well.

That car can drive that beach like it's nothing. Dude spent all that money on that car and has not 1 clue on how to use it.

Best use of an LR is as lawn decoration

The Tundra driver knows how to follow instructions.
I think he’s the best driver I’ve seen on this channel, followed the SandTundra and kept the slack out of the tow rope… all while driving In Reverse

Seems that most of the folks that you help, don't even know how their vehicles operate. If they would air down, most would drive right along. Of course making better decisions would go along way.lol

I've read abunch of the comments about how to cool it down. One other thing working against them was that the Defender was so sunk there was no airflow under it to help cool the transmission.

For the defender you need to pull the parking brake on the bottom left side of the wheel in neutral to unlock that brake sensor. Glad I got rid of mine at 50k and got me a rubicon gladiator
