Hi Chris, the way I put the poly’s in is the same as your set up but I also fit it a Jubilee clamp over the leading edge of the poly, put a bit of pressure on by tightening the through bolt then tighten the jubilee clamp as much as possible to squeeze the leading edges together and then tighten the through bolt and it pops right in. Obviously removing the Jubilee once the edges are in. 👍🤗

I've also had good results using the technique of drilling holes through the old bushes prior to trying to press them out 👍
