My head can't absorb this fast enough, so I have to watch it over and over. But I like!

I have no idea what you just said.

Thank you to Leonardo da Vinci for this invention❤️❤️❤️❤️

basically CVT (continuously variable transmission) work using centrifugal force.
in order to understand CVT and transmission in general you have to understand gear ratio: when the output gear (the secondary pulley) have bigger diameter than the input gear (primary pulley) the output gear will have stronger torque and lower speed than the input gear when the gears spin, and vice versa.
then the question will be how CVT modify the gear ratio without any gear at all?
by using a pair of conical shape plates (exist on both primary and secondary pulley). When one of the conical plate are pushed closer to its pair, the plates push the belt to slide outward increasing the diameter of the contact between the plates and the belts (the diameter of the gear in a gear ratio), as the diameter increase the circumference that the belt need to cover also increase, pulling the belt toward the growing gear. because the belt do not stretch, the belt force the pair of plates in the opposite pulley to expand causing it to have smaller contact to the belt.

EDIT: the centrifugal force is used only in the primary pulley by using what they call "rollers", when the crankshaft spin the centrifugal force push the rollers outwards pushing the primary pulley plates closer to its pair increasing the "gear" diameter.
the secondary pulley however have a spring instead of rollers to push its plates together. so it have high "gear" diameter during low rpm. in conclusion at low rpm the spring win against the centrifugal rollers but at high rpm the centrifugal rollers push stronger than the spring causing CVT to have low torque high speed.

if you understand how CVT work you will understand why it needs frequent maintenance because of the sliding of the belt and rollers when the RPM change, but you cannot put lubricant because the belt will not have enough friction to move the the opposite pulley. it is just a bad design in term of longevity. that is why you should never buy any CVT operated vehicle heavier than a small scooter.

i can't believe you got it backward at 01:09

engineers are amazing, thank you for creating scooters! sorry clutch guys, thanks to the clutch i almost had a collision accident with another vehicle when i tried my dad's motorcycle, never again!

Whether it is an internal combustion engine or an electric motor the CVT described here works in a similar fashion for both and increases the efficiency of both types of motors and drivelines.
Hybrid motorcycle engines have even become available recently !!!!!
The system shown above can also be modified into a hybrid drivetrain relatively easily.
Also if using an purely electric motor one side of the driven pulley could be adjusted in and out using an electrical linear actuator or servo with a hydraulic actuator also possible instead of the centrifugal clutch weights. With the rear pulley clutch and drive system either kept the same for certain applications or the rear centrifugal clutch could be removed from the design, while also having regenerative braking included in the designs.
Many possibilities and news designs are still to be tested.
Welcome to an electric and hybrid future for sit-down scooters and small motorcycle's.
With emission laws only getting tougher new designs are needed, with my drivetrain allowing for a small electric motor to deliver big performance.
The designs described above remain the intellectual property in every form of.

It is missing an important part - the weighted roller pressed against the curved plate. When the rollers are closer to the center, the curvature of the plate allows the belt to be closer to the center. As the rollers are closer to the edge, they push the the plates closer because of the curvature, and force the belt further away from the center to achieve higher speed.

I dig the simple way you explain this while at the same time revealing a bisected image of moving parts. A very visual learner myself, this presents in a way that i can understand an otherwise un-understandable thing. Thank you.

In order to increase speed the diameter of the primary sheath must be made LARGER not smaller (diameter refers to the line through the centre of a circle from circumference through the centre to the other side of the circumference i.e twice the radius) and the secondary (wheel end) should be smaller to increase wheel speed

Very informative 👍. Though I can't help but notice the tire might be backwards

Clutch in secondary sheave allows engine to idle without dragging the rear wheel

This video explained it perfectly

best one describe this i watch a lot about this but u are the best

Very informative. Thank you po

Thank you .. 👍

Pretty smart mechanism

Brilliant..

The cubs have a simular system, but the clutch is in the front part too.

Perfect
