This would be a selling point for me personally! INEOS is a small manufacturer, effectively the personal project of INEOS boss Jim Ratcliffe, and it stands or falls with him. One reason I haven't looked into the INEOS Grenadier so far is the question of long-term spare parts availability. I would only spend that much money on an off-road vehicle that I can drive for a very long time. However, becoming a military supplier would give the company security and hopefully guarantees the long-term availability of spare parts.

We’re currently driving our Grenadier around the world! We set off from the Grenadier pub in July 2023, pretty much straight off the forecourt towing a Patriot X3 trailer which we live in. About 70-80% of our journey has been off-road! It’s a solid vehicle! 💪😎 It would be great to see them replace the old Landies with this contract. 🇬🇧

I think Britain would be very happy with those vehicles. I just can't see them driving a G Wagon.

Would be nice, especially if INEOS did open a production plant in the UK for supplying the UK military and its modification / spare parts supply line is also UK based.

The INEOS Grenadier is the perfect choice imo. Like a modernised and improved Defender, something that Landrover should've done, but they chose to make a luxury SUV instead

Who would have predicted that Defender that was abandoned by Land Rover ended up being the British military vehicle of choice. Me personally, I love the Ineos Grenadier way more than the new LR Defender.

Interestingly enough INKAS, a Canadian armoured car builder, also announced a product line utilizing the Ineos Grenadier.

There's only really that and the G Wagen that make sense as SMV's. The rest are either too specialised or have known reliability or build issues, Ford & JLR probably the worst culprits in that area. The Grenadier is what JLR SHOULD have replaced the Defender with in the first place.

The Babcock/Supacat (Toyota LC70) is the best option in my opinion. Reliability above average, simpler to work on, more mechanical, availability of parts, high production numbers makes more units available for conversions.

Gotta be Ineos. Best vehicle for the job and it would increase civilian sales massively - another win for the UK and they need as many as they can get.

The MOD specification is likely to evolve and price the prerequisite control. We have two aircraft carriers, with F35B aircraft that have too short a range because of VTOL kit, no trained carrier crew, no escorts. A magpult was considered but withdrawn. I am reminded that the Lancaster bomber of WW2 did not have adequate crew escape options because of the length of bomb bay and parachutes getting caught in the tail. Spec’s get distorted. And then we have Ajax.

it will be Babcock Supacat, proven reliability and from a company that already supplies armoured vehicles to the British Army and they have factories in the UK.
