Here is a step by step tutorial on how to make the faux stained glass using dollar tree picture frames ✨ In this video I'll show you two more easy techniques while answering some of your top questions!
Project steps:
1. 00:13 Get a frame and image outline to trace. Put image in the frame like you would a regular picture. taping it on center is helpful to keep it from shifting!
2. 1:10 Trace image and add lines with black Sharpie or permanent marker.
3. 2:51 Add color (Clear glue and paint method)
3. 4:35 Add color (Colored Sharpie/ permanent marker method) NOTE: the type of marker is important. Acrylic markers or paint pens are NOT the same thing and will not be transparent enough.
4. 5:40 Fix up black outline (Sharpie/permanent marker method)- NOTE: The black lines are on the front of the glass. This should be the opposite side from the color!
4. 7:29 Fix up black outline (Puff paint method). This works as a great alternative to the "goth glue" method we've used in the past!
5. 6:23 Add foil for shine!- make sure the shiny side of the foil is facing out so that you can see it through the transparent color.
Supplies needed:
~A picture frame (I used dollar store picture frames)
~Image outline (you can use any image)
~Clear school glue (must be clear- regular school glue will not dry transparent!)
~Acrylic Craft paint
~An old flat brush (make sure you don't use good brushes with glue!)
~Sharpie/permanent markers (black for the lines and colored ones if you use the marker technique!)
~Puff Paint
~Aluminum foil
~ Masking Tape (to hold image in place to trace)
