High in Afghanistan's remote snow-covered passes, two shepherds and their massive herd take shelter from the freezing wind. Far from any village, they build an open fire in the snow and cook a giant pot of traditional Meat Pilaf (Gosht Pulao) — sealing the pot with dough for a slow dum.
Experience the quiet, ASMR rhythm of nomadic winter life — crackling fire, endless snow, and a warm meal shared next to the herd.
In this video:
• Life with Afghan shepherds in a frozen high mountain valley
• Building a fire and cooking meat & rice in deep snow
• Traditional dum method — sealing the pot with dough
• A peaceful winter meal shared by the fire
