So there was new music that David wanted to record even after Blackstar. I wonder what that would have been like.

Whomever was running sound at this event should be sacked if they already haven't been.

Donny is a great talent and it looks like he just came from working on his car.

Interesting distinction between db providing others with a framework vs Alomar claiming all they got was a blackhole. Interesting when you see footage of Young Americans studio sessions and db is shown working on charts that he leads the backing vocalists, including Clark, through. They struggle following the complex vocal arrangement, but he insists they keep to it, and they get through it. Didn't think that was possible with a blackhole

As a sound engineer doing a lot of conferences it always amaze me how bad musicians handle microphones on stage. I mean why not hide the necklace behind the shirt or at least move it away from the mike? Nobody seems to care that it's ratteling all the time when Donny McCaslin is speaking. If feel sorry for the sound engineer trying to do his/hers job.

Most of the people in this audience believed in the idea of PAYING for music. That is dead. The major players are slowly dying because of this. These are the people who express through Music. The current crop express through Tech, not music. So, music is also in grave peril - the human spirit.
