Jason wrote an article back in the day about this silty lake where the big lead, short rig and solid pva bag like a wet sock was a game changer. It was a great read. Out of the box thinking that was very inspiring. His story about the black mirror was great to hear and read about. I hope he will show up in podcast more and share more of these tactical and technical edges. No open doors being kicked when Jason is talking

Jason is the man and a friend of mine, I used to use his MPX bait when he used to make it

Class act Jason love listening to his stuff

One of the all time best anglers and blokes going. Came up to Eric’s angling to give a talk years ago. Proper good laugh too!

Love his way of thinking

Big Jase, top boy and looks like he’s been hitting the gym…or something else! Not afraid to speak his mind and proper old skool ❤

the thinking carpers carper

always good to listen to someone who is happy to speak out against the general echo-chamber practices within carp fishing. I spent some time in his company as a kid & would love to have another chance to now - lots of things he mentions I would love to take further.

The paper he is talking about at 7 mins is by a Russian called Alexander Kasumyan called "The Taste Preferences of Fishes" from 2003. Fascinating reading, as all of his papers.

Never glugged a bait in my life. Carp have a sense of smell x200 stronger than ours.

Jay in full flow.... fucking love it  whether he is right or wrong.... great entertainment😂

Fucking love Jason!!! Used to use his MPX bait all the time & he used to look after his customers like any bait supplier that wants his customers to actually catch. If you let him know, he would roll & boil the baits exactly as you wanted them (rock hard if fishing on waters with Crays etc or basically paste if fishing for difficult fish that have seen it all). Jason is an angler that actually thinks rather than just push things that aren’t needed. When Jason speaks, you listen to him as everything he says is for a reason. Zero Bullshit 100%🙏🏼
Makes a fantastic cup of tea as well👍🏼

I remember years ago it was said if you can smell it you have too much in. I think thats right.

Jason fished my Monks pit had 21 carp in a session & one night 3am it was peeing down & he was outside with binoculars
I said you’ve had all those fish! What you doing out in this weather, he said I’m here to catch I can sleep at home! He had a 20 once it was hooked in the top lip ? On a bottom bait 😮 best angler I’ve seen 👍😊

Nice vid joe well done

Top guy is Jason. Thanks Joe

Nice theory on the over flavoured hookbaits but logic would say it’s a non issue.. once the rigs in, it’s in!

You don't keep eating battenberg because of the colour, or the smell... you keep eating it because you like the taste of it.

I personally have a issue with blobbing bait floss. Burning floss creates a toxic topper that is the first thing that goes in the mouth and is a repellent. If we burn food it still tastes of burn days later.
In the carp world of small percentages this seems crazy to me that people do this. I’d love to know Joe and Jason’s thoughts on this?

On the spitting out of baits this is 100% true. I test baits out on my koi all the time. Certain baits they just spit out but do eventually eat, others they don't eat at all and some you never see them spit it out. When testing Atlantic heat it's unbelievable, never seen a single fish suck it in and spit it out, in fact it's rare for a any if it to get to the bottom of the pond before they've eaten it all. Others they mouth constantly and it makes them 30 mins to clear it, perhaps over flavoured or they just aren't as fussed.

Excellent film guys 👏👏

Sweet corn will never blow…
