I'm newly pregnant with my first, due in January 2027, so saving for maternity leave and baby prep is my goal right now. In addition to my 3 month emergency fund, I have $1,000 saved so far and my goal is $8,000.

As an older person and someone who struggled most of my life with finances, I am happy to say that my recent savings goals the last 3 years have been growing. I have a Rainy Day, Travel, and a Reg Savings. I am currently working on an Emergency Fund. I also have saved enough to be 1 month ahead on my bills.

We are so similar! I also love categorising savings and goals into different buckets. I also really relate to the conflicting feelings of wanting to save money for fun things vs saving for feeling secure

YT recommended me your video and what you said about financial anxiety really resonated with me. I'm at a place where I was able to save 1 year of my living costs and still don't feel like enough. Maybe because of how I was raised or that in 2022 I quit a job that literally sent me to a psychiatrist and it took me 8 months to find a new job. (Treating this in therapy every week hahaha). Now I can divide my money between paying off my mortgage and investing.

I would like to share a financial milestone with everyone here, recently I resigned my apartment lease for a year and paid the rent upfront! which is insane to me because growing up was more like scrambling for rent money each month even though it could’ve been avoided with some planning. i think the thing about emergency fund is having not a random number saved but like 6 months worth of expenses, you know? so all these different ”buckets”, how much do they cost you per month? how much is your fixed expenses per month? calculate that, multiply it by 6 and then you have the amount you should have in your emergency fund. like, if you have to leave your job because of a car accident or something like that, (ideally) you can still “exist” for 6 months not working. do you know what i mean? that’s what i’m trying to do.

Thank you it's so motivating!!! I will take your idea of having a ski fund, I never thought about saving in advance for it, and I always feel guilty for spending for a ski day because its a lot on a monthly budget. I will try it this year! And always, emergency funds and vacacion funds are non-negociables.💖

Such an inspiration ! I am on the opposite end - filling bankruptcy next month :( after a year of depression I have been able to rebuild, but I am essentially starting from scratch. I can’t wait to get to a point where I can comfortably invest
