Whilst officially since the 1st of May 2026, but mostly starting in September 2026, Schools are banning mobile phones in schools. Whilst I can see why, I don't think its reasonable as of yet. I must stress that i always feel/felt ok in a school enviroment but some don't and really its the government putting a bit too much trust in some schools that perhaps don't feel safe for the pupils. I understand that last video did cause some controversy in the comments, and i can 100% see why.
I've also found this video from @SnipeSnap that explains my point even better, check that out here: Do NOT Let Your School Use This on Your Phone
This is Random Talks, a short series where I explain my views of the world every Friday over the course of the summer Holidays! This is Episode 4 of 6!

As mentioned towards the end of the video, Episode 5 has been decided and will be about the derailments in the UK towards the end of the 2026 summer heatwave.

Phones in school should not be used, except for, as you said, effectively in an emergency only...they should not be used for scrolling through Facebook or tiktok and the likes, except during break times.
Social media ban for under 16s - totally against it, how can you get other people's opinions etc if you are not able to make contact with other people, to challenge their views, ideas and thoughts of then have your own challenged - which promotes critical and self thinking, encourages open mindedness and broadens opportunities and ideas to develop as well as confidence building? Personally, I prefer face 2 face or calling someone for a proper speaking conversation than text messages but I do accept that text messages may be the only way to communicate with someone at times but Never when in the same room as each other!...
Anyways, another great video - good subject, keep them coming mate!
Questions...what is your opinion/view on 16 and 17 year olds voting? How would you decide on who to vote for - especially if your social media or internet access is restricted and/or prevented due to any kind of ban put in place?

The school enforces a complete and total ban on smartphones during the school day to eliminate distractions, prevent online bullying, and improve academic performance.
