Johnny Cash is fundamental, please go down this rabbit hole

"Ring of fire". Written by June Carter in the middle of the night when she realized she was in love with Johnny while still being married to someone else

The video was made about 20 years ago. This is a list of the celebrities that were in it:  Rick Rubin, Iggy Pop, Kanye West, Chris Martin, Kris Kristofferson, Patti Smith, Terence Howard, Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Q-Tip, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Chris Rock, Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss, Sir Peter Blake (Sgt Peppers Artist), Sheryl Crow, Denis Hopper, Woody Harrelson, Amy Lee of Evanescence, Tommy Lee, Natalie Maines, Emily Robison, Martie Maguire (Dixie Chicks), Mick Jones, Sharon Stone, Bono, Shelby Lynne, Anthony Kiedis, Travis Barker, Lisa Marie Presley, Kid Rock, Jay Z, Keith Richards, Billy Gibbons, Corinne Bailey Rae, Johnny Depp, Graham Nash, Brian Wilson, Rick Rubin and Owen Wilson.
Love the reaction! ❤

Hands down THE best Johnny Cash song (…and I know I’ll get crap for this…) is his version of Hurt. Typically when veteran musicians cover more modern tunes, it’s a bit cringe-worthy, but damn did he shut my mouth with that song and that video. The best part was Reznor’s response to it, that it was now Cash’s song. And now I’m off to that video…

**SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWN** is a good one.

A Boy Named Sue!

This is a cover, not a Johnny Cash original. It's actually an old blues song, performed under several different titles, as was common with Blues... artists would frequently play each other's songs and add their own spin to it... ten weeks and 40 versions of the song later, it would get back to the first guy who would keep the changes he liked, add some new ones and put it back out there, so those songs were constantly evolving, no "definitive" versions, just a mass decentralized collaboration.  This one was popularized (taken mainstream) by Odetta Holmes in the early 1960s. Cash did a great job, but believe it or not, the best cover I've heard was actually by Marylin Manson. Shocking appearance aside, the guy has soul, lol. But there are literally hundreds of covers of this one, it's like a rite of passage in some musician circles.

Essentially this is a star studded tribute to The Man in Black. He recorded this song shortly before he passed...if I remember correctly he and his wife June both passed within a few months of doing the video for Hurt.

The Rick Elias song; Without One Word, is about the deepest song I ever heard...Dylan would be proud...THe ending always  ' blows ' me away...Nobody else wrote like Rick did.. he helped co-write some of That Thing You Do...songs from the soundtrack..

“I Walk the Line “ is a great song to react to by Johnny Cash.

This is a song that has so much value in it's message. My mother-in-law introduced me to him, she was born in 1927!

Hurt, a great cover of a Nine Inch Nails song

0:08 OMG ..... I MISSED THIS REACTION
LET'S GOOOOOO JOHNNY❤😊

My favorite Johnny Cash song is When the Man Comes Around

It's cathartic, what we all long for - justice.

I heard someone say when they die they fully expect God to sound like Johnny Cash!

I personally love "The Man Comes Around" from Johnny Cash. :)

Ring of Fire 🔥

The song's original title is John the Revelator, it has been around for ages (1930).
Depeche Mode even covered it. Funnily enough Johnny Cash covered Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus.
Some cover versions rock, you should look out for some pumping, hopping, rocking, cover versions that are better than the original.

a friend of mines son was a champion mna fighter Matt May, He always made his walk to the ring with this song. Totally one of my favorite songs from Johnny Cash~ Great way to start my day!! Thanks !! Cheers
