My wife and I both have Paramo Nikwax outdoor. coats we bought in 1999, and they are still fully functional, styles a bit outdated though, but at 73…who cares.

Shout out to mountain equipment too, on par with rab

Well I’ve had a Craghoppers waterproof winter coat for the last 4 years , it’s just as waterproof now as it was when I bought it. I use it everyday through the winter walking my dogs .

I'll stuck with paramo and keela they work differently and keep you warm and dry keela is defo my winter choice.

Best jacket i ever bought was by an Icelandic company called Cintamani. Their designs and materials used are far more suited to our cold & wet Scottish weather than the well known go to brands - most of whom are more about fashion than practicality nowadays.

A decision to stick with Mountain Equipment, was correct for me.

Thank you for an interesting review.  I find it slightly curious that, in all the reviews that I have seen.  Rohan is never seen.

No mention of Keela or Montane? Both excellent quality and suppliers to outdoor professionals.

I thought that "Rab" was a Scottish company. I have learnt something. Thankyou.

KarrimorSF still produce excellent backpacks.....An off-shoot of the original Karrimor.

I love the single skin Craghoppers trousers, I wear them for work every day and they last on average 8 years.
I also have a shell waterproof that is also excellent.
The winter wear is one or two season max. though and I no longer buy those.
Other stuff I've found very good are Han Wag footwear and Vango tents and self inflating pads.

Some of the Chinese made Karrimor stuff is ok tbf,the walking boots are comfy, but go through the soles in 6 months

Alpkit!

Decathlon have knocked these expensive renowned manufactures for six. Good or bad? Who knows?

Karrimor used to be excellent, went bankrupt and I think JD Sports bought the name, Fjallraven, Buffalo, Paramo, Mountain Equipment and Rab, I’ve owned and still using these products Fjallraven, Mountain Equipment I’ve had since the late 70’s, have a Buffalo Cycling Shirt since 1986, lining getting thin now, had their Mountain Shirt since 2000, have a Mountain Equipment Fitzroy Jacket since 1979, full of paint stains now, had a Paramo Jacket for about 15 years, very good, really like it, doesn’t feel as if you’re wearing a plastic bag, been looking to get a  Velez Adventure Smock, I also have 4 Barbour jackets, had my first one in 1986, they have all been back to Barbour for repairs and rewaxing, use these for work and taking the dog for a walk, I find using small outdoor shops, better than the larger ones, Gibbs in Brecon and Trekkit in Hereford are excellent, Trekkit has an excellent range of gear, being in Hereford you will understand why they carry such an extensive range of gear

This stinks of AI slop.

No mention of Rohan or Berghaus!?!

I have a RAB Vallience waterproof down jacket. I can't reccomend it enough. I have two sled dogs that don't care what the British winter hands out, they just want to be out in it. The RAB has always kept me dry.

Regatta always seems to have a perma-discount.

Buffalo / Keela ?
