"Picking out younger students and giving them legs up" is diabolical wording

I’m over here envisioning Barty Crouch Jr. realizing he was adopted only when Sr’s bone doesn’t work to resurrect himself according to the Moody’s eye horcrux theory. 😂

Didn’t pay the math budget

The first thing I thought when I saw this was “I mean they both had straw blonde hair, Slughorn did in the flashback at least” and then I realized that I kinda have no life that I immediately remember the detail of their exact hair colors

Early 1960s barty crouch Jr would have been born if he were 18 in 1981, not 1952

Couldn't Slughorn just be the father of Mrs. Crouch? She did use Polyjuice Potion to look like her son, so maybe she had potion skills from her dad. Also, she is described as blonde in the wiki.

"The most complicated potion Ive ever seen", yet 2nd grader succeed in preparing it

My brain's going haywire, in an effort to quote Crouch JR I just said "I'll show you yours if you show me mine"
I then buffered and questioned myself

Hey guys, unrelated to the video, but it's a theory I wanted to share.

The price of Ollivander's wands are not 7 Galleons, they are usually way more.

Quite simple, in Ollivander's shop (and only his) the wand chooses the price. It decides the price based on it's own pride, the work Ollivander put into it, the means of the other wizard etc.
The reason Harry's only cost 7 Galleons:
1. His wand has no pride.
2. The wand wished to correct it's brothers wrong.
3. It wishes to punish Ollivander for selling it's brother to Voldemort in the first place.
4. Ollivander would pay Harry just to see the results.

This theory solves for:
1. Why Ron couldn't buy a wand in year one.
2. Why/how other wand makers exist.
3. The actual price of wands (or what it isn't).

The problem with this theory is that Barty Crouch Sr. still helps his son escape Azkaban.

Then remember Barty Crouch Sr.'s last words:

“I . . . escaped . . . must warn . . . must tell . . . see Dumbledore . . . my fault . . . all my fault . . . Bertha . . . dead . . . all my fault . . . my son . . . my fault . . . tell Dumbledore . . . Harry Potter . . . the Dark Lord . . . stronger . . . Harry Potter . . .”

Despite his insistence otherwise, in a moment where his faculties aren't completely in his control he calls Barty Jr. "My son". Not "My wife's son" not "Barty Jr" but specifically "my son". "No son of mine" was Barty Sr's public display of disowning his son more than anything. Sirius describes him as ruthless and cruel, so i would not put it past him.

Isn't his son a fish called Trousers?

@areebansari7060 2 days ago

How will Barty Crouch Jr. come back then if he doesn't have his real father's bone?

@hufflepom 2 days ago

4:01 Ron describes Stirgus Podmore as looking as though his had had been thatched as well.

“Sturgis Podmore?” said Ron slowly, “but he’s that bloke who looks
like his head’s been thatched, isn’t he? “ (OotP, ch 14)

There is a possibility Barty Crouch senior didn't like his son because he went into Slytherin instead of another house. Preferably the Ravenclaw house.

@vexcos1819 2 days ago

I still kinda subscribe to the idea that slughorn has a history of preying on students. Two tumblr authors argue for it Vinelle and Muffin

A fifteen minute video about my favorite Harry Potter character, Barty Crouch Jr? I’m locked in!

“Gives them legs up” … bad choice of words 😂😂

@shorv 15 hours ago

Obviously blond hair is so rare that every character with it exists in a direct line. So Slughorn is Lucius' father who is Barty Crouch's father who is Draco's father. Because everyone with blond hair is directly related because it's so rare.

@banani6904 2 days ago

So, if Crouch Jr. has a Horcrux and has buried the bone—aka his father—in order to return... it can't work, because he doesn't know that Sluggy is his dad.😮
