As a long-time member (almost 1 whole week) the time has finally come for me to comment.

The Anglerfish in this game (and indeed Link's Awakening) is almost certainly a "She". Anglerfish are notable for their extremely pronounced sexual dimorphism, with femals often being several orders of magnitude larger than their male counterparts. This dimorphism has led some species (several independently) to a reproductive strategy of "sexual parasitism" where the male permanently fuses to the female, relying on her for nutrents.

This dimorphism often results in male Anglerfish looking like weird little wormy guys rather than the profile we are familiar with.

You have no idea how relaxing I find your Zelda Dungeon Videos.

This is the dungeon video I was waiting for when you started the Oracles series! I have so many memories of this dungeon in particular due to how lost I got in it, as well as the particular spot in my life I was at when playing it. I always associate this dungeon with hospital waiting rooms while my grandfather was getting chemo treatments.

2:15 me too! Love this dungeon.

I appreciate the Maridia theme!

It's so nice to have a zelda dungeon thats actually HARD

You want the Water Temple in 2-D?
Jabu-Jabu in OOA: 👍

You know, your series has made me go back and start marathoning both Oracle games and It's made me realize just how strong the dungeons in these games are and, for the longest time, Moonlit Grotto was my favorite dungeon in OoA but after having beaten both games recently, I can safely say that this Dungeon has actually taken 1st for me and has bumped the Moonlit Grotto down to second. A vey close second, mind you, but second nonetheless.

bro I got stuck SO HARD in this dungeon as a kid. also absolutely love it like you do <3

goated content btw I always get hype seein your stuff on my home page

One thing I like with this dungeon is that I get stuck somewhere even on repeated playthroughs. It gives me the feeling of playing fresh every time, compared to the other dungeons that I know most of the solutions by heart.

Mermaids Cave and Jabu Jabu’s belly is one helluva one two punch

Definitely agree - this one was so tough, but also one of the best dungeons to solve!

Oracle of Ages' Jabu Jabu is like: if you can beat it, you can beat all 2D Zelda ever, no matter the difficulty

I love this dungeon, something about the way the levels connect really worked for me mentally

The one problem I have with it is that the underwater key requires you to continually push the dpad towards the lock, when the mermaid tail upgrade makes you tap. I spent so much time thinking I needed to lower the water so that I could go through it unflooded, only to finally realize that you totally can open a lock uhderwater, just not by swimming into it the way the game had been teaching me to.

This is in my top 5 2-d Zelda dungeons

Banger alert 🔥

Im one of the people who loves this dungeon and im so glad you are too. Its honestly my favorite 2d dungeon ever

This is going right into my Favorite Videos playlist. Fantastic work!!

I miss dungeons like this, I wish Nintendo made these more complex puzzle box like dungeons again.

A couple of tips to make this dungeon a little easier! You can find a ring in the overworld near this dungeon that makes you immune to the jellyfish zaps. If you're playing a linked game, you can get the swimmers ring through secrets to swim quicker.

I got impatient when I played this part just last week and looked up a guide. Couldn't find the last key in the key hunt and didn't want to drag out the stream looking for it. 😅

I love that you used Metroid music in the video. I was thinking that the dungeon theme sounded like it could fit in Metroid. 😂

I don't comment as much as I should, but I live this series. Thank you!
