DID THEY JUST OUT-VIBE THE ORIGINAL?! 😱 Placebo – Where Is My Mind (Pixies Cover) Live Reaction

🎸 Reacting to Placebo – “Where Is My Mind” (Live, HD)

Today we’re checking out Placebo’s live cover of the legendary Pixies track “Where Is My Mind?” — and hearing how their darker, alt-rock vibe transforms this classic.

The combination of Brian Molko’s unique vocal tone, the spacious guitars, and the moody atmosphere gives this version a completely different emotional color. It still has that dreamy, disoriented feel of the original, but with a heavier, more dramatic edge that really builds as the performance goes on.

If you love alternative rock, 2000s live sessions, and reinterpretations that actually add something new to a classic song, this one hits hard.

I really like Placebo as a band, other tracks by them which I recommend for you react to are:
"Nancy Boy",
"Bruise Pristine",
"Pure Morning",
"You Don't Care About Us",
"English Summer Rain",
"36 Degrees",
"Every You Every Me",
"Special Needs",
"A Place for Us to Dream",
"Special K",
"Meds".
There are many more but these are good ones to continue with.

Great band, both live and in the studio. One of my favourites is 'Without you I'm nothing' there is a fantastic live version with David Bowie, well worth checking out. Cheers

After this, it really would be fine, if you react to the film "Trainspotting" (1996). The soundtrack is phenomenal: Iggy Pop, blur, Pulp, David Bowie, Joy Division. So you will not regret.

My teenage Son had shared The Pixies' original on IG only a couple of hours ago, and now I'm finding this among my notifications! 😄 Placebo also are great in regards to their own songs (I've already seen many great suggestions around these comments, too! 😍), and they were actually in part responsible for my move from Germany to NZ 23 years ago! 😄

By the way, frontman Brian Molko's French is so good because he'd grown up in Belgium, as the son of an American father and a Scottish mother. Hence also the American accent when he speaks/sings English 😀 Bassist/guitarist Stefan Olsdal is Swedish, and only their drummer at that time, Steve Hewitt, was actually British 🙂

This was recorded in Paris in 2003. The entire concert was released as Soulmates Never Die and is well worth listening to. It puts their wide range of music on style. I have lost count of the number of times I have watched it. The crowd reaction was mad throughout the entire concert. They sang along with many of the songs, whether in English or French.

Very good song and a more than decent performance. Top marks for addressing the crowd in French, too. I was never a huge fan of Placebo but the occasional song of theirs connected with me. My favourite Placebo song is "Haemoglobin".

Hello Diane from Leeds. Great video choice. It takes me back to the 90s. And to Leeds United with Eric Cantona. Greetings from Germany.

Well, the band is British and formed in London, but the singer/guitarist is half American, half Scottish, and the bassist and (original) drummer are Swedish. The current drummer is English.

The younger singer has a really good rock voice. !st time hearing this group and song and I am suitably impressed. (Ed Sheeran "You need me I don't need you "😉😉😉😉😉😉 PRETTY PLEASE!! )
