This band is 50 years old and still loved by more people everyday. People will still be listening in another 50 years. Who will even have heard of today’s artist. This man’s voice is totally incredible. Best voice in any genre of music

My mom met Steve Perry when I was a baby, and he asked to hold me. (I'm about the age of his daughter and he was missing her). Mom said that he was absolutely graceful and lovely to me, her, and everyone he interacted with. Just thought I'd share that story. I've seen Journey 3x, unfortunately after his departure. Worth it every time!

The entire live performance from that tour (Houston 81) is phenomenal!
Every song is performed with epic sound.
Long before modern technology such as auto-tune etc.

I always love to watch the reactor's face when they watch and hear this song for the first time, especially when they get to the end and realise that yes, that's Steve's voice and not an instrument. Priceless.

With his amazing range and distinctive tone, I think Steve Perry is just one of the greatest singers in all of rock. Astounding solo piano piece, and awesome band.

“The Voice”. No auto tune. No lip sync. No safety net. Just pure unadulterated talent on display.

Every damn time... My eyes tear up every damn time Steve hits those final notes... every damn time...

I’m glad Journey are getting their belated due. They were hated by the critics in the 80s. Yet, to this day young people discover and fall in love with their songs. (Meanwhile, a lot of the acts that were afforded accolades by those same critics are long since forgotten). As freakishly talented as they are as musicians, it all comes down to songwriting. A good song is a good song. And I for one miss the days when songwriters knew a bit of music theory and not just how to operate software.

1981...................No Auto Tune.....No Backing Tracks........Just Pure Talent.......Oh The Good Ole Days.....

The lyrics of this song were actually about Steve Perry’s personal life. Interesting fact: when Steve recorded this song in the studio, he did it in ONE take. This song meant a great deal to Steve emotionally, even though he stated it was a very difficult song for him to sing. IMO, Steve was THE greatest rock n roll vocalist of that amazing generation of music, which is saying a lot! Even Freddie Mercury didn’t sing with the kind of passion and soul that Steve did. When Steve sang, you literally felt the lyrics touch your soul. No auto tune. Always perfectly on pitch in live concerts. You just don’t hear music like that anymore. So heartfelt and meaningful. Beautiful melodies and lyrics without cursing, slandering, or degrading other human beings. I feel blessed to have been in high school in that era. SO MANY talented and amazing bands back then and all with their own unique sounds.

I am a 59-year-old Japanese person, but I bought this album in real-time when I was in junior high school. At that time, it was an era of either TOTO, Journey, or Foreigner. This brings back so many memories

Only the angles can sing like this !  It’s to much. Way to much so perfect !  THOSE NOTES HE SINGS AT THE END ARE HEAVEN SENT !

He sounds like that live  in concert best rock voice or voice in general ever. That was flawless.

One of the best live performances of all time

After all these years, it still gives me chills and makes me cry, one of Journey’s most powerful songs

They've never recorded a bad song.  But this song is their 'Masterpiece' in my opinion.

"Classic Rock" singer is totally Underestimating the soul this man has in his voice...and the soul.

Steve Perry is The Best. The emotion, he feels every word and do we. No auto tune here. The musician for great. I lived these years they were amazing ❣️🎤🎶

My God the lyrics are so powerful .

He always puts his heart and soul into the songs. Pure talent, passion and power.
