Not a waste of time. People are a$$holes. You showed the differences so its fine man. Keep doing your thing. We appreciate it.

You are a very good representative and steward of the sport of archery. I've gained a lot of good knowledge from your videos. Much appreciated.

When it comes to testing, Don't let the great be the enemie of the perfect

Thanks for putting in the work

You guys deserve WAY more subscribers, I was genuinely impressed by the effort you put into these.

Sound is measured in logs numeric so when you convert back to "% quieter" is not correct. Eg 3db less is 50% quieter

Every test is gold for the community :) only note to this video is that should be nicer to have numbers on screen! thanks for the work anyway

Another difference is how a longbow is less prone to snagging tall grass and branches between the string and limb ends. It can be an annoyance that makes extra noise and movement.

I like the video. I wrapped my limbs with rabbit fur. It works exceptionally well.

Let's ask Project Farm to make the tests on the bow silencers that guy can handle it no problem

5:17 I honestly love the way you're stumbling through describing things in lay terms. Because the stuff you're saying is 100% scientifically valid. If you feel comfortable enough with the math, you can look up scientific methods about p values and such to actually figure out the answer to the question, "what are the odds a more precise test would flip the answer?" But more simply, if your results are small enough, say, if your speed is 1-3% different from one bow to the other, then you can say pretty confidently that you need at more precise test to be certain. But if your results are significant, like 10% faster, then you can be reasonably confident.

Anyway, I really enjoy watching stuff where someone who's obviously very intelligent and dedicated to what they're doing, doesn't necessarily have or use the fancy vocabulary to express the ideas scientifically. It helps take a degree of elitism out of science.

Your sound test was just fine

Well man. You definitely have your percentages together on this one. Impressive job and a lot of effort to realize there is no big difference. You gained your right to wear glasses repaired with ductape, you also deserve a nice clipboard and coloured markers. ;) Good content man, keep Shatterproof Archery on track of bringing wisdom and entertainment to all archers worldwide.  Greetings from Poland

I think that if you were testing a “D” shaped longbow instead of reflex longbow it would perhaps have been slower, depending upon arrow weight (longbows like heavier arrows), but quieter.  However, if aluminum arrows are used they will typically make a “clank” when coming out of paradox.  That clank is typically not heard by the archer, but can be heard down range.

Excellent video, always wanted to do archery,  &'ve just ordered a Black Hunter Longbow, less than $100 on Amazon..... can't wait‼️

Ma machine doesn't give you haptic feedback like a living person ❤

Your use of the word precision, was spot on!  As a scientist and teacher, precision only matters at the level of necessity.  There is no point in precision to 4 decimal places, if 1 will do.  Good job👍

Excellent video and tests.
I wonder if the robot guy has ever shot a bow in his little accurate life.
Cheers!!!

GOOD STUFF GLAD U POPPED UP IN MY FEED,,, THANK YOU

I had seen a comment in another video that said that if you put some felt in between the riser and limbs (where they screw together) it makes them quieter.
It makes sense, the vibration between the pieces could cause some noise. But I have yet to try it myself.
