"I have a tear running down my leg." - god damn it, Yuzu...

"they died because they didn't dodgeroll and iframe scylla" I'M CRYING

The last waiting part has 8 “waiting” (one for every saga away), and her singing there lasts 20 seconds (one for every year apart)

Epic paid off the creator's college debt.

The mom (Anticlea) part was even more tragic: she would wait for Odysseus return on the cliffs of Ithaca every single day ever since he left for war and she was on those very cliffs the day Odysseus ALMOST made it home... then Eurylocus opened the wind bag, unleashing Poseidon's storm... when she saw Odysseus' fleet being enveloped from the storm and then disappearing.
Thinking Odysseus died in the storm she threw herself in the sea.

Also Jorge saved us another heart-wrenchng moment: you know the doggo that you see playing with Telemachus? That's Argos and he's been Odysseus' hound since before he left so he's VERY old... in the Odyssey, when Odysseus finally arrives at Ithaca he disguises himself as a beggar to investigate what happened during his absence. When he meets Argo he IMMEDIATELY recognizes his master... and then dies of old age... the puppo did everything he could to stay alive only to get a last chance to say "welcome home" to Odysseus...

Homer really wanted to tear our heart out...

Ok, I'll end it in a fun fact because I don't want to end this in sadness: the reason why Hermes is so on board with helping Odysseus is because he is Ody's great-grandfather!
Talk about cool relatives...

Why would I have a feeling Yuzu would be drooling for Poseidon if she saw the Aniflamma or Neal illustrator versions of Poseideon

Immediately understanding the "Nobody" part as soon as you asked the question and your chats reaction had me cracking up lmao

"Why do the gods like Odysseus' so much?" His conviction and Wisdom, he was considered one of the greatest of men. Smart, clever, strong, loyal but to only those who would grace him and his own with love and open arms. Cross him, and he would end you and make your family accept it. He was that convincing and strategic. He was involved in so many conflicts that affected the Gods plans and schemes that he was played with like a chess piece. The reason that Athena liked him was that his people worshipped her as their deity. Poseidon was his biggest detractor because of this causing his Odyssey. Finally he ended all the games at the end of the Odyssey after killing all the free loaders in his kingdom. He vowed never to leave his wife and son again for war...

...and he never did.

I'm curious how the new movie coming with Matt Damon as Odysseus will be.

I don't know why everyone thinks that all 600 men were inside the trojan horse. There was a small group inside the horse, and once they got inside, they opened the city gates letting in the rest of the men.

Also fun fact, the souls in the underworld are ainging their final thoughts from their life. What hurts most is that Polities last words were a choked out "captain" after being crushed by the club...
Meaning after all that pain, in that moment seeing open arms lead to his death, he STILL believes its better to live this way...

2:45:25 Yeah if I recall correctly she did that for a few reasons.
1. She knew it was Ody, but he was wallowing in self pity, so she made him see that despite how much he changed, he still held on to that love for her.
2. Some gods cough Zeus cough had a nasty habit of disguising as someone's husband and ... abusing that. So basically only someone with emotional attachment to the bed would refuse her request, while that individual would just be like "move a bed to get ****, nice!""

"I feel so single" Yeah i get it

My personal theory about Mircsy's animatics is that Odysseus just kidnapped that lotus eater and is now his Robin, he named him Polites II

1:20 "he would trade the world for her" and trade the world he did

9:35 “That one has 21st century glasses, what the time traveling” that made me giggle, but apparently the glasses were put on Polities just to refer back to his voice actor. It’s just a cute little addition to him.

slayyy

My favourite part of musicals is enjoying them with friends and family, and seeing yuzu enjoy this with the lampchamps is so wholesome

46:13 the reason Poseidon said “you should’ve just killed my son” is because in Ancient Greece, not killing an enemy and just leaving them alive was considered a major insult, like “you’re not even worth the effort to kill you”. And since Ody insulted the cyclops, he insulted Poseidon.

Nit gonna lie, whoever said that Polyphemus is the son of wet hades... I hope your pillow is always warm and you cant get comfy when you it down at your pc >:(

Ok, so basically, if I recall correctly, in the beginning there was only Chaos. But Chaos got bored of being literally everything, and so created Ouranous (the sky, pronounced Uranus) and Gaia (the earth), the Primordial Gods. They fell in love, and Gaia had three children, the Elder Cyclopes, but Ouranous was so disgusted by them that he cast them into Tartarus, the underworld for monsters. Gaia tried again, and the result was the Hecatonchires, or hundred handed ones, who had 50 heads and 100 hands each. Ouranous was horrified of them, and so he cast them into Tartarus as well, and this drove Gaia over the edge. She had twelve more children, the Titans, and entrusted them with a scythe to kill Ouranous with. Kronos, the most cunning, took it upon himself to do so, and chopped him to pieces, with the severed you-know-what falling into the sea and becoming Aphrodite. However, Ouranous cursed Kronos with his dying breath, making it so that his children will overthrow him as he overthrew Ouranous. So, the Titans all married each other, with Kronos marrying one named Rhea, and they started to reproduce. If I remember correctly, this is where Prometheus made humans out of clay. However, Kronos’ first child, Hestia, wasn’t a Titan. She was a god. So, Kronos remembered the curse and swallowed her whole. Then him and Rhea tried again a few more times, producing Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Poseidon, who all met the same fate. Finally, Rhea got wise to the fact that he would just eat all their kids, and hid on a remote island when she was pregnant with her sixth, Zeus. Then, she brought a rock to Kronos, pretending it was the baby, and he ate it, leaving him pretty confident that he’d beaten the curse. However, the gods in his stomach immediately figured out that it was just a rock (yes, they’re alive, but a normal person wouldn’t be). So, Zeus learned how to make an emetic with just mustard and nectar (the drink of the gods) and earned the trust of Kronos as his cupbearer, only to trick him into drinking the emetic. All the gods were freed, and they waged war against the Titans, with some Titans choosing to side with the gods. The gods won, and that’s how they became the rulers of the world, with punishments being doled out to the Titans, and Kronos being hacked to pieces with his own scythe. Please forgive me if I got anything wrong, and feel free to correct me.
