Gricko is actually a Druid and his animal companion is the owlbear Hootsie and Gricko treats her as his adopted daughter

5:40 is been a long while since I saw this episode,  but the context of the joke is that Kremi got the random curse of loving unicorns so much that he can't think of anything else, then I think the got a chance to get wishes from some npc and Kremi, obviously, wished for an unicorn but everybody forgot he was still cursed 😂

For context, the Avantris crew shuffles DMs around regularly, and the players reuse or transplant past characters. Chuckles was a character played/voiced by Gricko's player Mikey. So even when the text in the corner says episode one, some of the characters have dozens of hours of lore/playtime under their belts. Especially for one shots.

Clowns are also a subgroup of demons in most Avantris settings.

Small context:
The party is in the Witchlight Carnival, which is in the feywilds. They have a mechanic where stream viewers can donate to give them a "twist of fate" which can let them re-reoll a roll of their choice, with a catch. The catch is that the DM will then roll a 1d100 to inflict a curse on them for each Twist they use.
These curses are what cause a ton of the shenanigans, i.e. "the voice of the last person you killed tells you things about their life no one wants to know" or "all liquid tastes oily, including your saliva" and "you have a strong desire to mate with (species)" and other silly things. That's why different afflictions will appear and change the character's personality and speech for one short, and then disappear for another short.

Since you asked... a jelly is made only with fruit juice and it's firm enough to hold its shape.  Jam is softer and has fruit pieces in it.  There's also preserves that is chunky and more often uses smaller fruit so they remain whole, but if you do use large fruit they can be sliced or cut.  Marmalades are jellies with visible pieces of peel or rind, usually using a citrus fruit.  Chutneys are tangy versions of jams that can be made with fruit or veggies, and use vinegar and spices.  There's also fruit butters that involve pureed fruit but no actual butter, and fruit honeys that use either juice or fruit puree and mix that with sugar or honey.

So the recurring gag with Gideon is he keeps accidentally killing clowns and getting haunted by them. One time: he was dared to throw a meatball at a 'guy with a stupid tie' 600ft away which he did, and ended up hitting a clown (bow tie) in the face so hard it severed his brainstem.

The wandering mountain is actually pretty easy to explain, it is a giant an ancient rock tortoise.

Fun fact: It’s not soaking tobacco in water that creates arsenic, but rather soaking cigarettes or cigars in water that releases arsenic which was already in them.

12:54 its a cornfrog.

Thousand island dressing absolutely goes on meat if you order a Reuben sandwhich

16:50 I've had a "the farm" talk about one of my grandparents dogs they couldn't care for anymore. Fortunately it was an actual farm, we used to go there and pick out pumpkins when I was little.

I followed you for the "Oh, so he was a streamer" joke at around 8:20.  It's so accurate! See you on Twitch. :D

16:08 adoption.

13:49 in the American context, jelly has added gelatin, jam doesn't.

“There’s a Snickers in their world?”

WELL THAT’S CANON NOW!

Morning Frost is tabaxi sorcerer with sublass Mystic Mind Origin, so he have means to read your mind, did with Torbek later in youtube short.

13:50 the difference is jelly is made with fruit juice and looks like jello. jam is like a fruit puree. preserves are when they include whole fruit in there. marmalade is citrus-focused and will have pieces of rind in there. compote is comparable to canned pie filling; heavy syrup with whole chunks of fruit.
23:35 aaand yes those are actual lines in the book. and i read the original fanfic back when it was still being updated! unedited, no proofreader, nothing. so you can only imagine how much worse it was. plus the author was known in the twilight fandom for being an arrogant witch with a capital B.

They were visiting the warlock to get the quest that stared the whole campaign haha.

14:05 Thousand Island Dressing on meat isn't all that strange. It HAS been revealed that its the Big Mac secret sauce after all, so its obviously pretty good on burgers.

5:11  I helped everyone out by recording what we were saying and doing to help us all keep up.
After telling them that the DM’s wife started video recording. 😁
But I did write a few adventures for the DM. One of them had 4 different endings depending oh how they acted and what was achieved in that world. And a choice at the ending that tops it all.
What can help keep the group in a curtain space? Put the group on an island.
Make some type of magic boarder so they can only go where you’ve created. Like a magical forest that will not let anyone leave until they do certain stuff.
Because you’ve limited how far your group can go you can add more details that would otherwise go unused. Characters you’ve worked so hard on. Areas they’ve past and you can get them back there now.
Now you can add more details to make them search. Hints and treats are scattered around but need looking for. The easier the hints the lower the strength and special abilities of that item.
Sprinkle little or big battles with strange beings and beasts.
The chaos of the game is still there they just can’t go to another country if you don’t want them to.

Just a thought.

(When I gave the DM my story he told me I could be the next DM I immediately said no. I cannot do math constantly. The game would take 3x longer than usual. That and I have no what the rules are and confused as heck when I try. 😅)
