What an absolutely disgusting woman. I appreciate that the intercourse between Pamala and Billy was always labeled as assault and rape, since he was manipulated and couldn’t consent because he was a minor. Some people genuinely can’t comprehend that, so I appreciate it being laid out in that way. I feel horrible for all the kids she used and abused just because she didn’t have the guts to divorce her husband.

"People are wondering why the woman that groomed children and orchestrated the murder of her own husband through them is still behind bars, while the kids now grown up having to suffer with their own mistakes from that grooming are free."
Gee, I wonder why.

I'm so glad you were able to use the words 'assault' and 'rape.' Most YT channels don't use these terms as the bots pick up on these and demonetise them (and often take down these videos). But it's so important that a spade is called a spade. Using any other 'soft' terms is like making the perpetrators sound like they stole a lollipop from a store, instead of inflicting one of the most horrendous types of abuse on a child/young person- something which affects their mental wellbeing for much of their lives! Good on you, Casefile.

Such an evil and manipulative woman, may she gets everything she deserves

Hearing that Gregory called out for his dog when he entered his home and then expressed concern about the dog’s safety after he was attacked is heartbreaking.

My mother once told me "Adults should not confide in children. Children aren't responsible for adults' problems," and now I'm wondering if she had this case in mind when she said it. I would have been about four at the time.

I think it gave me a really strong sense of what good boundaries are in an adult/child relationship, and what crossing a line emotionally would look like.

This case happened just up the coast from me (Massachusetts' North Shore) and occurred as I was finishing high school. The reason Pamela Smart is still in prison and will never be let out is because she doesn't think she did anything wrong. Watching those kids broken down on the stand while she coldly "who me?"d her way through every event to this day demonstrates who she is. She's not sorry it happened, she's not sorry she put those kids through hell, she's not sorry Greg was murdered for her. She's just mad she's still in prison. Every few years she pops up again with her bs but she hasn't learned anything. I think she's just hoping that people will have forgotten the lives she ruined. I'm glad the kids are all free now and able to go on with their lives. And I'm ever more glad she isn't because I absolutely believe she would do it again.

Him saying my wife will kill me if I give you my wedding ring, the irony 😮

How many lives did this manipulative woman ruin ? The reverberations of what she did still echo through so many lives.

Remember people if anyone gives you an ultimatum to pick between them or someone/something else, pick the latter always.

Being American, this is a case that I remember very well from my teenage years (I was just 3 months shy of turning 17 when Gregory Smart was viciously murdered in May 1990).😢💔

At first i think its one poor kid getting manipulated, but now so many kids are getting involved it’s hard to believe.

She raped Billy multiple times, groomed him into murder and made him lose years of his life behind jail. Actually insane

I never get why people are so confident that they can get away with murder after involving so many people

Someone WILL talk, especially if they're young like this

It took me 20 minutes to realize why I knew this story. It's the movie "To Die For," with Nicole Kidman, Matt Dillon, Joaquin Phoenix, Illeana Douglas, and a bunch of other excellent actors. Highly recommended.

What a terrible woman. Just get a divorce!! Excellent episode as always, thanks Casey and team.
RIP Gregory,

Thank you for calling it as it is: r*pe. It is not a relationship or a regular encounter when one of the parties is a literal CHILD.

More of the very best true crime pod

I remember this all over the news when I was 9 years old. And the movie "to die for" was an unfortunate glamorization.

more like "Pamela Not-Smart"
