Hey Guys Hope you All Enjoyed the Video :). had To edit this quickly in 5 days to get it ready for Upload so there might be a Few Mistakes Editing Wise near the end :)

If You want to partake join our Discord Server Our Next Event Will be Vietnam War In the Coming 1-2 Weeks :)

This is what war thunder SHOULD be. Two teams with a clear and fun (and realistic) objective, instead of "just capture some points"

How dare YouTube hide this from me for 8 months.

IRL: Bombers coming back with Hundreds of Hits, Lost Crew, Compromised controls and multiple engine losses

WT: "Paper Mache, take it or leave it."

Chicken made a whole speech just to be called a "helper" in leading 😭😭😭

The German speech  was crazy😂

Honestly, WarThunder used to have special Historical events that would appear every other week or so that would be like this, though no where near to this scale. Couple years ago they got rid of that system because, in their words "There just wasn't enough players interested in these historical event game mode" while all I heard was "These events are not making players want to give us their money so we are removing it"

Fun fact: most B-17 bombers came home with some parts of the wings missing (and the engine broken), so this plane is really like a Flying Fortress

It was an honor leading the 262s o7

1:28 you feel you are watching a history documental.... and then you remember that the best spaa in war thunder are trees 😂😂😂

I like to share my Great Grandfather's story when I can.

B-17s IRL took some serious beatings and were often able to limp back. Losing an entire squadron was extremely rare and really only happened prior to D-Day. The strength of B-17s was the tight formation and array of guns. The aircraft were shockingly resilient, often able to return on 1 engine. My Great Grandfather (he would be 102 today, passed away about 11 years ago) was a tail gunner and served on 34 flights before completing his rotation. Some of his LT's notes from his flights were as follows:

June 14 LeCulot, Airfield - Lots of flak-Ship shot up a little
June 18 Brunsbuttelkoog, Oil refinery - Engine shot out over target-Lots of flak
June 20 Fallersleben - Oil refinery - 3 ME 109s-Heavy flak-Ship shot up
June 21 Berlin - Lots of flak-Holes in ship-Rough mission
June 22 Paris - God, What flak-Hit by FW 190-Ship shot up
June 24 Grand Couronne, France - Supposed to be easy-We lost a ship-Damned lead navigator
July 7 Leipzig - Rough as hell-Hit third target-Ship shot up-Cut 4 engines over target
July 8 Bourth LeLente, Railway, we really hit it-Easy mission-2 no one(?)-We werent hit
July 17 Montgourney - Buzz bomb site-Flak was hell-Ship grounded
July 20 Merseburg - Oil refinery-Elev. trim tabs shot out-Not much flak but we got it
July 29 Merseburg - Rougher than hell-We lost 8 ships-4th time over that target-Jones went down - (this one gets me)
July 31 Munich - Long mission-Ship grounded-Flak
August 25 Politz,Oil refinery - Long mission-Just missed ME 109-Flak quite heavy
Sept 5 Stuttgart - Light but accurate flak-Ship shot up
Sept 9 Dusseldorf - Ruhr Valley-Good but there was flak-Ship was hit
Sept 10 Nurnberg Tank Works - Got hell shot out of us-No. 2 out, ship ggrounded
Sept 18 Warsaw - Supplies to Poles-On to Russia-Lots of flak, fighters
Sept 25 Ludwigshaven - Plenty of flak but we made it
Sept 27 Mainz - Lots of flak-Ship OK
Sept 28 Merseburg - Rough as hell, shot out windshield in front of me-Fighter hit - (he was not likely on this one)

His unit was the infamous 350th of the 100th BG (the one from Masters of the Air), which did lose all but one ship on one mission. My GGF joined after that, however.
Obviously, they lost a lot of planes. But more took beatings and made it back. My GGF's last confirmed mission was on September 27, 1944. The ship he was on most of the war went down over Berlin on October 6, 1944, with 1 survivor who was captured on landing.

I was too young to ask him for details, get recordings of his stories. I regret that to this day. He told a few. The one I remember best is spotty and might have been him telling me about his buddy but IIRC he didn't serve 35 because he was wounded on his 34th. The quote I remember was "I think they shot my damn balls off!". I also remember a story about a crew, not likely his, that had to go down in the water, standing on the wing as the ship sank until rescue. I remember him saying he flew 26 missions, archives suggest that either i remembered wrong or he undersold his service.

4:23 best moment ever XD

1:00 The German voice Hits hard Bro

With the new bomber update involving their damage models, I'm actually finding them in formations.

Now try with the new bomber physics 😭

The big thing I miss about the game is when bombers actually could take a hit like they were supposed to instead of just crumbling. The second anything hits them great video, though man I wish the game was like this.

needs a redo with the bomber dmg model buff

4:24 for Deutschland !

Ah man, it would have been sick if there was a way to revert the bomber nerf for this event.

This should be a game mode
