Just watched the bit where you took the headlight out right at the start, seeing all that rust I hope you didn't be lazy and I hope you actually sorted that rust rather than leaving it to Rust;)
Woodruff key for me all day long on the crankshaft pulley. I remember changing the timing belt on my XR3i with the CVH engine. Piece of cake and no special timing tools required. Bring back the old days of simplicity.
I know I keep repeating myself but I absolutely love the way you take the time to clean wipe and scotch bright the parts ❤❤ really like watching your videos
Gotta say, been considering doing mine soon but heard horror stories of the floating crank etc.
Oh how wrong I was, that looks simple compared to some I’ve done 😂 I’ll be doing it myself now, cheers for the vid, real confidence booster watching someone make it look so easy 🤝
Own two cars Focus/Fiesta 19/20 Years old. Both with the Zetec 1.6/1.4. Service timing belt, oil, sparkplugs. For the Focus i use the volvo enginecover to prevent incoming water into the sparkplug housing.A known problem. Thats it. Never had any engineproblems. Really one of the best engines.
Great video. Just bought a low mileage Zetec S myself and a cambelt change will be one of the first jobs. I think Ill be good doing it myself, looks straight forwards enough and the access is great. I agree that these are probably Fords best engine, had a few variations in cars over the years and they are ultra reliable and easy to work on.
I did 150k in a Fiesta zetec 1.25 . Never burnt oil . Great car . I also had the Zetec S another great car . I currently have the Ford Puma 1.5 ST in Mean Green and seems to be a great car so far .
