I find these videos so interesting. Have been driving since the 90s but only now slowly learning how the engine bits work lol. So much more interesting than electric
I've never been keen on the 1.25, I've done a few MK6's & the hardest problem I encountered was getting the heat shields off the exhaust manifold due to the heads of the 8mm bolts eroding & ended up using heat, my prefered engine is the 1.4 Tdci which I have done many of & only encountered Siemen injector issues & oil coolers & one I used as a daily runabout clocked up 220,000 before I sold it last year
Many years ago my Cooper S had a misfire, as this had happened before I diagnosed a damaged valve and took the head off (very easy on the A series), all valves were fine. The cause was dist cap and plug leads - doh.
First car was a mk5 1.25. Absolutely beat on that engine daily for 4 years like every good 17 year old and it took it like a champ. Think I serviced it once in that time π only thing that went wrong with it was it did a couple of coil packs. Miss that car, RIP RV51 ABN
