Eminem’s “Godzilla” is exactly why I keep saying fast rapping is not automatically bad. The problem is when rappers sacrifice actual lyrics, cadence and musicality just to prove how many words they can squeeze into a verse.
In this full music review, I break down Eminem’s flow, production, punchlines, cadence, beat control, fast-rapping technique and overall replay value. Going into the reaction, my chat thought I would hate this one because of the rapid delivery. Instead, “Godzilla” ended up proving the exact point I have been making throughout these reviews.
Eminem is not simply saying random words quickly. The bars still connect, the punchlines still land and the rhyme schemes remain understandable even while the tempo increases. That is what separates elite technical rapping from somebody just racing the beat.
The song also reminded me how talented Juice WRLD was. His hook immediately gives the record melody and balance, and hearing him alongside Eminem makes you realize how high his ceiling really was.
Once Eminem enters the final rapid-fire section, the technical ability gets ridiculous. The “available,” “inflatable,” “unbeatable” and “unavoidable” sequence is exactly the type of writing that makes the speed worthwhile because the words still serve an actual purpose.
This is the difference between fast rap that feels impressive and fast rap that just feels exhausting.
“Godzilla” is a banger, Juice WRLD sounds great and Eminem proves he can accelerate without sacrificing the song.
