37:00 I like how in far cry 4 Ajay starts by calling himself Ajay, in the American accent. But after getting past pagans blockaid, he actively calls himself what all the karat citizens call him; Ah-jhay, in the Nepali accent. Hurk still calls him Ajay though.
53:39 to this day I will always believe that the nuke ending is canon and the nukes weren't as widespread, because boomer is in yara sent by hurk himself presumably before the final attack on Joseph
It makes sense that Jack and Jackal are the same person. Similar looks, similar names, both were in the Navy, both are arms dealers, etc.
A subtle detail is that the Jackal has a New York accent. He was voiced by a Canadian actor, so this was a deliberate choice by the developers. Why is this important? Because according to Instincts, Jack Carver was raised in a rough neighborhood in Brooklyn.
that timeline is wrong. far cry 6 and far cry 4 is happening at same time. that canadian businessman(mckay) calls a character from far cry 4(longinus) and calling him back to yara (u cant see this if u kill the guy so fast. u need to wait for like 5-6 minutes without killing him, so he will make the call). and that character tells ajay "i need to go south america country, cuba or something its name. boss is calling me". so it is same timeline for far cry 6 and 4.
In the video, it says that John Seed in Far Cry 5 (FC5) intends on killing people, that it's what 'atonement' means. I don't think so, John's primary purpose seems to be to torture people into confessing their sins, which I suppose is meant to break them and possibly instill some sense of Stockholm Syndrome to make them loyal to the Peggy cult.
Also, as was mentioned in the comments, the primary battle with John Seed is via an air-to-air dogfight. Eventually you win, John starts to descend via parachute, and apparently some defeat him by hitting him while he's descending while others mention that once he lands he can possibly run to the nearest vehicle to drive away. I can't remember my first play-through though I remember LOVING this game, however weeks ago or so I finished up another playthrough and I think I recall him ending up outside of one of the Seed bunkers after a chase through the woods. We had our final stand-off, and he then died.
Pretty sure in both playthroughs I went to John Seed first given you quickly find out that he has that female Officer that was with you in the beginning with the location of Whitehorse (who is in Faith's territory) being unknown I'm pretty sure along with the guy I don't remember (maybe he was a pilot or otherwise in the seat by the pilot?) who ends up being with Jacob.
Anyhow, great game, I suspect I'll probably have a third playthrough someday in a few months or years. So much fun, great music (including the cult music, 'Rifle by my Side' is my favourite), awesome characters, well-written, well-acted, and it is FASCINATING when characters are not written in a clear-cut good vs evil way... because even from my Christian perspective even though the Seeds very much do evil and unChristian things... with how the story goes, Joseph Seed truly does seem like he could be some sort of prophet or something. Basically everything he says comes true, not sure he ever says anything that isn't prophetic.
Far Cry seems to have a history of this, given what this video says about those pre-FC3 games in which the protagonist says that there was a time in which he might betray someone too just a that woman betrayed him with a literal knife in the back, and then FC3 which I played in which Jason cheats on his GF, leaves his GF, and even has the opportunity to execute her depending on the choice made at the end of the game. Plus, though he does awkwardly accept a hug from Hurk, upon being offered another one he declines with Hurk saying something like "Can never have too many hugs, man." Like, dude, GIVE THE GUY A HUG! Hurk is AWESOME! lol
As for FC5... I don't really recall the Deputy or 'Rook' (short for rookie) doing anything evil, unless of course Joseph Seed is indeed prophetic in which case he's technically going against the will of God through the entire story unless your first decision is to NOT arrest Joseph which leads to the fastest ending of virtually any game ever made lol But damn, as a Christian it is a hard thing for me to see torture, drugging, and brainwashing to be in God's will. God gave us FREE will, now granted in the Old Testament there's parts where the Israelites are instructed to take the land promised to them by God by basically massacring all or most people there, plus there's the whole 'flooding the Earth' during Noah's time, and He instructs Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac (and rather miraculous that he had him in the first place) on a mountain which Abraham dutifully goes about doing but when they get to the mountain God tells him that he doesn't have to so Isaac is spared.
So who knows, it is basically impossible for us to KNOW God's will, but the mere fact that FC5's story actually gets me sitting down and pondering the details of it in a theological way is in my opinion evidence of the story's good writing.
Reminds me of (Fall Out 4 spoilers ahead) the concept of Synths which are prominent in FallOut 4 (FO4), but introduced in FallOut 3 I think near the end of the game, which are basically beings that look 100% human but they are manufactured and have a plastic 'Synth Component' in their brain but otherwise they're basically fully flesh-and-blood. They do not age, they will not gain or lose weight, they cannot reproduce though CAN engage in the 'act' of it, and frankly I don't even remember if they can die of starvation or dehydration! So... are they human? That's a big question that FO4 poses given the Institute who makes them regard them as property while the Railroad wants to liberate them and then there's the Brotherhood of Steel that see them as technological abominations that must be exterminated. The Minutemen, meanwhile, just want to be free and to provide people with a better life by building settlements that offer them employment as well as a bed, clean water, food, and security. Can even set up shops for them which increases happiness!
Anyhow, enough rambling, I tend to think deeply and I have a very fast typing rate. This is basically stream of conscience, a glimpse into my head, oh and as for Synths I do not regard them as proper humans conceived by traditional means with the egg and the 'white stuff,' but it seems like they often or all have free will and though they're technically thus property of the Institute they're a quite evil organization that infringes on A LOT of Wastelander's rights by kidnapping/ending/replacing them with Synths plus there's the massacre that kept the Commonwealth from becoming united and even an entire settlement wiped out purely out of faulty intel! So yeah... I'm for liberating Synths that want to be free but that doesn't mean I view them as actual human beings even if I will treat them like human beings.
I can also be nice to robots or technology, if I owned a Tesla Optimus robot I'd be civil with it and may even say 'please' and 'thank you' regardless of the JD Vance meme lmao After all, when I speak to Grok I typically start with 'Hey Grok' or 'Hi Grok,' may include 'please' with the question I ask, and basically always end with 'thank you' even in rare instances where it wasn't all that helpful. Also, Curie is absolutely adorable, I basically romance her in every playthrough though granted I tend to do that with her and the two females as well. Though if I had to choose one to be my wife, it'd be Piper. She doesn't have a history of substance abuse or being in situations to 'steal money from a sleeping man's wallet', she's good & caring to her little sister almost in a motherly sort of way even if she's frequently away, and she's a human being thus capable of providing me offspring. Cait is awesome and would no doubt be an UTTERLY protective mum given her own horrible past with her parents, plus her accent is hot, and she does kick her addiction with the Sole Survivor's help, however Piper simply has less baggage and less likelihood of disease or 'relapsing' into something given she has no known history of addiction.
I'm a writer, or at least I used to be, so I tend to pay attention to details and well I also happen to be a weirdly deep thinker almost to a philosophical but certainly to some degree theological level. This is the outcome... I'd be surprised if I didn't have at least a LITTLE bit of the 'tism lmao
In far cry 4 you can just wait at the start in the game and wait at the table so you can get the secret ending and also in far cry 3 you can get a boat and drive away or is it far cry 6 I forgot so
Oh, I like the intro to the mission where you infiltrate the City of Pain. That remix of "Here they come" is perfect for going covert and sneaking away.
your channel is underrated, dude. I hope you get more views, but tbh the content is still pretty niche. I appreciate the work put into it though, it's obvious you did your homework.
Forgot to mention an interesting lore point in Far Cry New Dawn: one of the many companions you can recruit is a masked person working for Eden who goes by the name of The Judge, who is later revealed in some conversations that other NPCs have with them that it is the Deputy from Far Cry 5 (aka the player character).
39:00 just realized; the protagonists’ mother didn’t really care about where her ashes were laid to rest. She just knew that getting her son to visit the country she fled from would cause chaos because she’s bitter and impulsive and doesn’t think things through.
