This is the first real superbowl performance, before this nobody cared about it. Once again MJ innovating and setting the standard for the modern generation of music.

I was at the Super Bowl when Michael Jackson was there. It was awesome.!!!!

without this Michael Jackson halftime performance we wouldn't have had the Prince Super Bowl performance cus it was the first of its kind....it also managed to actually legitimately bring everyone together & it was family friendly....not to mention Michael & Prince pulled crazy big numbers without streaming services

This performance makes me cry everytime I see it. It's incredibly touching.

Where else could Michael Jackson get his messege across (heal the world)  than the Super Bowl   Genius I’d say it was amazing

The crowd participation made it more exciting too because they were actually part of the show.

In-Stadium Attendance: Approximately 100,000 people were in the stadium, TV Viewers: The performance drew 133.4 million U.S. viewers, holding the record for the most-watched halftime show for many years. Significance: It was the first Super Bowl where the halftime show garnered higher ratings than the game itself. Michael Jackson was 34 years old when he performed the Super Bowl XXVII halftime show on January 31, 1993

You have to remember this is 30 plus years ago and MJ did the very 1st Superbowl halftime. He was 34/35 when he did this .You got decades of MJ performances to check out

Not many musicians or artists can make you feel chills watching. Not many make you feel like you’ve experienced something spectacular, like a once in lifetime event, like MJ could. He was literally the king of his genre.

MJ everything was the best.

Greatest entertainer of all time ❤

Michael is always #1 for me

Back in the day when music was great. Great reaction

I lived near the Rose Bowl in '93 and used to go for runs around the stadium in the evenings.  They were rehearsing for the show and all the performers were in a staging area in the parking lot.  They suddenly turned off all the stadium and parking lot lights.  It was incredibly dark and MJ got on a megaphone and gave a brief thank you/motivational speech for the all the performers.  Then after brief moment, 3-4 cars sped past me (including a large Mercedes sedan) and the lights slowly turned back on.

I wonder how many people went to the Super Bowl simply to go to a Michael Jackson show?

His Super Bowl performance tried to bring people togethe, not divisive! 🙌♥

I love how they stand at attention for so long and don't move. Awesome MJ😊

The producer said that Michael told him, DO NOT START THE MUSIC UNTIL I TAKE MY SHADES OFF!  It was killing him, he wanted to start sooner, but he didn’t.   Worked out.

King of pop is so missed by so many, so glad his new movie has gifted his music & talent to the next generation who weren't lucky enough to witness the genius at the time 🫶

MJ sung Heal The World because of the Superbowl's Theme that year was about Global Unity and Humanitarian Efforts.
