I'm sorry, Kripparian. We all shall miss Dexter.

11 years. Damn, we both got old.
Feels like just a few years ago when I binged those streams so I'd have something to watch and fall asleep too. Even remember when y'all moved and got that fluffy monster.
Good ol' glory days of Heartstone and D3. Sorry for your loss, wish y'all the best o/

I admittedly haven't watched a video in quite a while. I clicked immediately. I found Kripp trying to learn Hearthstone over a decade ago and as I did Dex was always naturally a part of the streams somehow. Such a loved pupper by SO MANY, but of course most of all by you two. I'm so sorry for such a terrible loss.

Not many dogs are as loved as Kripperino Doggerino was. Rest in peace good boy ❤

Dex's teachings shall live on. May we all be gentle, run fast and play hard.

Man, that hurt in your voice is something. Thank you for sharing.

Don't hesitate to mourn the loss of a family member.  It's been obvious to all of us how much Dexter was loved and how much joy he brought to you and Rania's lives.  I fully understand as the worst day of my life was when I lost my furry companion of 15 years.  That was ten years ago now and I still think about her and miss her.  Be grateful for the time you had and keep his memory alive.

here i am watching you years before dex with my 14 year old GSD crying my eyes out knowing what is to come for myself soon enough aswel
it must have been so hard to make this video kripp i respect you alot for doing it and i'm sorry you had to ever take a decision that hard
i hope time heals and i hope it does for me in the future also, much love from a lurker since day 1 HS days

"Give me a second, guys," Kripp says. "Gotta hit up the bathroom" He turns down the volume on his microphone, and immediately gives Dex a soft pat on the head while he walks down the stairs. As Dex barks loudly in joy, Kripp overturns the nearest chair, yelling "I love my dog!" as loudly as he can.

My condolences. I´m sorry for you mate.

RIP Dexter. I still imagined him as a young boy, insane how fast time flies by

Hello Kripp. I don't watch as much as I did before but I wanted to share. I find you incredibly strong to be able to make this vid.

I too lost a big dog last August 22, my big boy Sherlock. In many ways he is like Dex (he too had a sibling dog that was rough on him but he was very gentle with). He was gentle and intimidating. I had him for 11 years too. His favorite thing was going on walks with me and barking at stray cats. He absolutely loved kitties and puppies, not as much older animals.

I have lost my favorite people in life but Sherlock's loss felt different because he was my baby, I was responsible for him and I blame myself for everything that happened to him. In the days following his loss, I would find myself in situations of breaking down in the grocery store, while on the train, or just walking in our neighborhood because those were the paths I took him for a walk. I just let the tears flow and it feels irrelevant if people look at me weird or not. I let the grief take over. Some say grief is unexpressed love, I agree. I will be shedding a tear for my boy for the rest of my life because my love for him is eternal.

The endings are always rough. I try to remember only the good times and less of the end (but I did learn a lot from this experience). From what I saw, you were a great owner. Dex was very lucky to have you and your partner as his parents.

This kind of wound left on us can only be healed by time. I wish you and your partner the strength to go through this. And I hope my Sherlock becomes playmates with Dex wherever they are.

Aww Kripp. It’s probably weird to have strangers send notes of sympathy like they know you. As a fellow dog lover, I know that having a dog is both the greatest thing and (when the time comes) the worst thing ever but none of us would ever trade those years away. As a long time watcher from the Hearthstone pre-Dex days I can tell how much the love of the dogs have desalinated you from all the tilt and RNG. Much love and care from a random internet stranger in these trying times. Hold your loved ones close

My condolences, Kripp. You brought so much warm memories. As a dedicated dog owner i feel your pain. May the clouds be fluffy for Dexter.

Normally i am a silent viewer, but for almost a decade i would say. Just wanted to say i am really sorry for your loss.

And i think its awesome of you to share all of your story of Dex with us, even if it is obviously still tough for you. Hopefully it helped you a bit to get it out.

I will definitely miss him and your interactions.

We worked together briefly on some of your first ever merch more than 10 years ago. Haven't kept up with your videos much, but I thought of you and Rania randomly the other day while reminiscing a bit on some of my work earlier in my artistic career. Woke up today to see this video in my feed, so sorry to hear about Dex. My girlfriend and I had to put down one of our cats last month. He belonged to her, and she had him before we met, but over the years I had spent a lot of time taking care of him as well, and had come to like him very much. He was remarkably healthy for a very long time, but a little after turning 14 he was diagnosed with advanced kidney disease and an aggressive cancer. We did what we could for him, but we always knew the end wasn't too far away. He had many good and happy days left, despite what was going on. About 5 weeks ago, similar to your story with Dex, things began to accelerate very quickly, and not long after that we had to make the decision, for his own comfort and quality of life. I have had to do this several times before, but it never gets easier. It can really consume your life at the end, caring for him became an almost full time job for his final days. I empathize very much with your story of how it affected both of your lives in the final days- the doctor visits, the tests, the medications, the long nights.  I miss him so much, but I have found a great feeling of release in the last month, and have forgiven myself and taken the time to realize that I did all I could, all the way through to the final call. I hope you both can feel the same in time. He will sneak up on you when you least expect it, at first it will be very difficult when it happens, but in my experience, over time it will make you smile, and make you happy to remember him randomly. I am a very reclusive person by nature, verging on anti- social at times. It was a very humanizing experience for me to go through something like this, and I hope that you both can look back on it one day with strength as well.

Take care of yourselves, thank you for sharing.

Hey Kripp - lots of love to you. I'm so, so sorry about this news. Your video is a wonderful healing and tribute to Dexter. Thank you for sharing with your community.

Sadness and pain is the price we pay for love. But it's so worth it. The harder it hurts, the more love there was. Sending my thoughts during this trying time

Dex was a big part of everyones lives the last 11 years. That big fluffy head would routinely show up during streams/videos the first few years. Sleepy doggo was the common thing to hear. Gonna miss him being around but you know you'll always remember him. Rest easy, Dex.

I'm so sorry for your loss Kripp. I still remember watching your stream when you first showed him to us, I can't believe how quickly time has flown. My girlfriend and I recently had to put her cat (and by extension my live-in roommate who I had grown way too attached to) down. We unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to give him a last day of treats, as he threw a clot that caused extreme pain and made him lose use of his hind legs. The best we could do was be there to comfort him with our presence as much as possible while the vet administered the shot. I'm sharing this because I wanted to let you know I think you made the right decision. We can only guess how much pain they're in by observing how their behavior differs from the norm, and sometimes that happens suddenly and obviously, and sometimes it happens more slowly and subtly.

Speaking from the perspective of someone who has unfortunately gone through this multiple times, please don't let your self-doubt trick you into believing you did the wrong thing. Bearing the weight of responsibility for a creature brought 11 years of incredible memories, but the price will always come eventually, and you were there to relieve Dex of his pain when it became unbearable.

I came across this recently and while it does hurt to be reminded that they're no longer with us, I find it helps to remind myself that it's not about how sad we are that they're gone, but about how happy we made each other while they were still here.

Because, sadly, I won't make it that long.
But I'll be your best friend for my whole life.

I am just a chapter in your life,
But you are my whole book."
