Having unprotected intercourse with unaware people if youve been diagnosed with syphillis and refused treatment needs to become some kind of crime

People who knowingly spread STIs should have their photos publicized in "Wanted" posters to alert the public, just like other criminals.

I had syphilis for months. I thought I had a cold at first. The symptoms weren’t too bad until I started fainting. I tested positive for syphilis, and the doctor said I was nearing the end of stage 2. I finally got treatment and called the ONE person I had been with in like a year to tell him he should get checked. He told me he did have it and got treated 6 months before. I was shocked he didn’t let me know as soon as he did.
EDIT: and he was a nurse!

My sister died from syphilis. Her husband was a long haul trucker and gave her syphilis and never told her. She knew he was sick and seeing the doctor, but he wouldn't tell her why. Syphilis does not always have show on the outside. Mentally she was very off after living with an abusive man for so long.
She was rushed to the hospital one day and immediately was put in the ICU. She never regained consciousness and died a few days later. What we thought was a mental breakdown was the syphilis eating away at her brain.

I worked with a guy who was attending “adult parties” knowingly spreading the herp. When I ask if he was informing his partners he laughed and said they would figure it out in time. I had never experienced such contempt and disrespect of that magnitude before. Makes be physically ill to think about it.

I live in SW Michigan and remember this well in 2022: An investigation identified one asymptomatic man who transmitted a rare form of ocular syphilis to five women. The cluster, centered around Kalamazoo, MI, involved cases of early-stage syphilis that caused vision issues, hearing loss, and rashes in the women. All patients, including the man, were treated with penicillin. He however didn't have the ocular issue.
