All these graphs tell me is that you need to do a deep dive like this on Kallis. And most of his runs came when South Africa was statistically "the most difficult place to bat".

You are like what F1 shows off with data than any sport in the world. I only wish the cricket world understands your statistical analysis!!

Kohli's record and match factor in south africa is a lot more impressive considering for majority of his career he had to bat in some of the spiciest pitches of south africa ever
2018 being the toughest year to bat in test cricket he scored 4 centuries in sena countries and all in toughest conditions
Perth Edgebaston Nottingham Centurion
Deadliest pitch of Johannesburg where he scored a half century
So Kohli did have a better peak but Ponting had longer one
Kohli had to carry india in sena tours While Ponting had a brilliant all conditions batting line up
Great video as always

Kohli resembling an Aussie great & Smith's career being compared to Indian great SRT.
Looks like the successors of SRT & Ponting got exchanged.

How many of you noticed Steve Smith was next to Bradman in all factors there's no comparison of him 🐐🐐

Smith just topping all these charts 😮

You see all peaks here don different factors and see smith just in the top. Truly modern era goat.

Just impressed the comments aren't full off ppl who are Kohli fanboys or Kohli haters. Rarely see any objectivity when he is mentioned. Its like Indians have to either hate him or want his babies.
Edit: May have spoken too soon. That didn't take long

Kohli doesn’t have Punters test numbers, but dominating series in England, Australia, and South Africa is a serious achievement and should not be sniffed at.

As far I know ,Punter record in Asia isn't that great.

This Aussie bloke is a a very diligent and well good on his work in channel here.

Jarrod.. I wish our non-sensical Media power houses like Star Sports and ESPNCricinfo in India gives you a chance to commentate with data rather than hero BS we have to put up with likes of Manjrekar, Gavaskar, Bhogle without data. We all know you and Adam Collin’s are a gift apart and yet neutral most importantly!!

How underrated is my man Jacques Kallis purely as a batter!

I can't agree more. I've said this since 2011.

Pretty cool to see the careers dissected like that

guys to remind you all these are test stats. no odi or t20 is taken

I think that 1 ridiculous stat that kohli might leave us with is the almost 60 avg in odis even after 13k runs, that wont ever be replicated

I have seen Jarrod drawing comparisons between these two. I always thought it would be appropriate for Kimber to make a video about it

I think the biggest factor that defines Ponting and Kohli reliability.
Early wickets, dire straits, Ponting's  average went though the roof.
A battler.
Early wickets for India, dire straits, Kohli is sub par with a 37 average.
I know who I pick in my team.
The most important factor

Excellent video!

It's odd to have started following cricket in 2007.  I've been aware the whole time that Ponting was one of the world's greatest batsmen, but I basically only got to see him when he was just an okay bat in the lineup (who was an exceptional fielder).
