A very sad story, but what a wonderful legacy that Man has left . I’ll be going to his museum this summer.

I was not expecting to hear that Pat had passed away shortly after we see him bidding on the cavalier

I was watching the video thinking what a great man Pat was, so sad to hear he had died. Rest in peace Pat.

Had a cavalier GL gold in colour mid 70s immaculate best car I ever owned so much better than the plastic box computers on wheels of today RIP Pat

I worked in reception at a Vauxhall dealership when these were first on sale. They were made in the UK and Belgium. Headlights invariably filled with water. I can still remember the smell of the loop pile carpet. Brian Close, the cricketer was a customer of our dealership. He went by the adage of using the ashtray when the floor is full. Overall the cars were pretty reliable.

The year is 1977 i was 10 years old, the Vauxhall salesman malcolm in Denton Manchester brought a 2 door Cavalier L round to show dad. Same colour red and it lasted him years these were well built. Very happy memories 😊.

What a lovely cavalier, must have looked ahead of it’s time in 1975 at launch. My dad had one and it was a great car. Shame there aren’t more around.

Owned a metallic blue Cavalier sports hatch for many years. The 1600 engine blew so put a 2 litre Carlton engine with a twin choke Webber in it. Eventually rust killed it. It was never the best but most people thought it looked cool. Still miss it to this day. RIP Pat. Great legacy

What a sad story, however a fitting tribute to Pat. RIP dear fellow.

Had one years ago with 2.3 magnum engine swapped in .. it was great when you were messing around doing nothing important … but when you had to get somewhere it always broke down.
